Anybody had a chance to compare these two new sliders yet? One reviewer commented on the lack of a ridge on the sliding portion, which makes the 8800 trickier to slide open.

What about display, reception and speakerphone comparisons? (IMO, my RIZR has as good as or better Verizon reception than my 8300, but the 8300 speakerphone was the best, period.) 8800 anyone?

I had the rizr and just got the venus. The ridge is one thing. So far the reception and and speakerphone are just as good as the rizr, maybe a bit better. I have to say that the dual screen and along with some other features makes this phone a keeper. Just a cool phone.

Very cool phone....There is a texture on the back of the phone that feels very cheap. The response of the touch screen could be better (The Voyager is noticeably more responsive). Everything else seems great, sound quality is good, speaker phone is good, no problems with slider.....venus over rizr. Voyager over venus.......pearl takes them both. Can't multi task when playing music on the voyager( pearl and venus you can), mobile web on venus (pearl and voyager full browser), pearl $29.99 for data package ( voyager-vcast $15/month; mobile tv ready.....venus mobile web-Booooo!) They're all good lookin phones.....if you want web/email at it's best go pearl, second would be voyager, bringing up the rear....venus.

Rizr feels cheap, not a lot o...

The voyager is a brick. Not to mention if you are on an America's Choice plan with Verizon, they make you upgrade to a new Nationwide plan if you want the Voyager. It is much more expensive. No more $5/month for unlimited web (and tethering on the D/L).
