Everything is extra!

Does anyone else have a problem being nickel & dimed at every turn?

When I was paying $30 for 30 minutes of talk time back in the day I didn't feel this ripped off.

Every little app is $3 extra a month or $8 extra. Isn't $50 a month for data and messages enough already!!!

MobiTV shows TV with commericals. There is even a "Transformers" channel that just shows clips from the movie and then tells you go by the DVD, then another clip, then another shot of the DVD cover. This should be free even if it is around 100 channels.

Finally the other total rip off at $3 a month is MusicID. I love this thing. It really works good but the whole point of it is to find the song you like and then buy it for the low low price of $2 to $3. Sam...

So dont use any of it. Its all your choice. ATT is a company and companys are out to make money not lose it. My Cell bill teters around the 200$ mark as well but its MY choice, just like its your choice. You choose to have a PDA phone, the internet, and text messaging, so deal with it!!!

I know but how much is enough?
Are you using any of the extra services?
Is anyone really paying an extra $5 for any of these add ons? I don't know anyone.

Don't you want to watch clips of the Sopranos in a media player that doesn't even go full screen?

No i dont use the Extra service's I am looking for a free GPS software, dont really like telenav also i own a GPS in my car so its really not needed, anything i want to watch i download and put on my memory card. I sell Att products all day, alotta of customers complain just like you are about having to pay so much money on cell bills, if you are worryied about how much things cost then maybe you dont need all the extra's. Just use your phone as a phone. Also you were saying that mobiletv has commericals, of course it has comericals tv at home has them why would this be anydifferent. Im sure your just venting but, its all things that you have a choice over.

The new Google Maps with My Location works great on the Tilt. MSN Live Search also works great on the Tilt.

Both are free, but neither is as sophisticated as something like Telenav - no spoken directions, etc. Personally they're more than enough for me, but YMMV.

You can get a 2GB MicroSD or better, an 8GB MicroSD card and install iGuidance 4.0.

I have that on my Tilt and it works excellent with the GPS and on top of that you just have to pay the one time price for the software. Map data for the US, Canada, and some other countries is only 1.3GB.

🙂

The more the merrier. For $50, I do want all the extras.

MobiTV should be commercial based but I do understand the value of having all those channels even though Slingbox is free. The only one that really drives me nuts is MusicID. The app is there to help you find songs and ringers to buy that already cost $1 to $3. Why are they trying to charge a $3 monthly fee for the service?

Yeah Roadkill, MyCast is just silly. It's not even a well designed app.

Wow, what do you guys have that puts your bill up around $200?

I have a family plan that I share with my wife, and our TOTAL bill is only in the $110 range. And that includes the $40/month for my unlimited data plan.

I don't subscribe to any of the extra cost apps, so that may be part of it. I understand why they have to charge a subscription fee for those apps - someone has to be paid to maintain the back end and keep it running - but I can't see paying $5/month for an app that I'm only going to use once or twice a month. I'd much rather pay a flat $1/use or $1/day for most of those services.

I mean seriously, how often do you *really* need to check the weather using MyCast? Or watch "TV" using MobiTV? Or use the extra feature...

I can't imagine anyone paying ANY money for MobiTV or any other video service when you can use Slingplayer on these devices. I have a Q9h and I watch whats on my TIVO or my live TV directly through my phone via my Slingbox (which is hooked up to my network at home) and Slingplayer on my phone.

Also on the Q (not sure if the Tilt works but) I download all my music from Rhapsody and it transfers perfectly to my Q. So the only charge is my monthly that pay for unlimited music... the icing on the cake is that I can transfer it all to my phone and head off to the gym with one device.

I love Slingbox and use it as well. I also use a free Sirius client for music. What makes mobitv such a rip off is that this and xm are services for suckers that don't really know better and we're already paying $50.00 a month. I'd pay another $10.00 at most for all the services.
