Contacts and Battery Life

Can anyone who owns this phone comment on how you search for contacts with it?

The reason I ask is that I have hundreds of contacts and about 70 people with names starting in "J", so can I do any of the following:

1. Does it search for first and last name automatically? For example, if I type "JAM" will it find both "Jamie Smith" and "Bob James"?

2. Can I just type each letter once? For example, to search for "JER" could I just type "5,3,7" or would I need to type "5,3,3,7,7,7"?

3. Can I change the main default # for a given contact without completely reprogramming the contact? Maybe just by choosing one of the numbers in the list and selecting that # as the main or default? (With the Razr2 V9 you have to enter it as the top #, s...

The battery life is great, will go a couple days easy with heavey use. Except for when your playing games, that seems to drain the battery fast.

As for contacts the answer for both is no from the contacts menu, when you type a name in it will go the first occurance of that name in your contact list. It does not compile a new list with contacts that match your search.

However from the default home screen you can start typing on the keypad a name like
TRACY so you type 8 7 2 and a list appears below with the names Tracy and Travis, then you can select which one to call. But the list will not include Bob Trander, or a phone number with 872 in it.

Wow, thanks so much for the reply. That's actually good news. So if I have it set to first names and I want to find "tracy" I would just dial 8-7-2 rather than 8-7-7-7-2? And would there also be someone on the list named "USA"?
