Returning V9M

I'm going to return my V9M today and I was wondering if any of you were thinking of doing the same. I gotta say for $275 after tax, I'm not impressed at all. I will gladly return to my beat up and broken E815 until something better comes out. Some of my reasons for taking it back are:

1. Horrible battery time, I barely make it through the day with any charge left at all.
2. I hate the text messaging system all together. You can only send one picture message at a time and it feels necessary to tell you that every message has sent which interrupts the process of doing anything else.
3. It looks awesome but I'm not a big fan of the new fingerprint look. It gets smudges like crazy!

That being said I will say that the camera is amazing...

I've had the phone since Tuesday, and I'm still on the fence about keeping it. I ended up paying about $90 for the phone ($250 less $100 rebate less $60 one month credit through cust service to extend contract 1 yr), so it's a good deal. But here are my pros and cons:

Pros:

-Super thin
-Beautiful phone, love the color and shine factor
-Loud earpiece and speaker.
-Keypad large and easy to use and text
-Outer and inner displays are beautiful
-Feels well made and has a nice weight to it
-Crystal clear reception with no background hum
-Great camera
-More bluetooth features than I am used to, at least according to the manual. I was able to send a pic to my printer, but haven't tried transfering files to my PC yet

Cons:

-Fin...

dang this really makes me wonder about keeping my 8300 until a better phone comes out. Do you know if your phone has the custom text ID ringers??? this will be a good seller to me if it does...

When I go to the contact edit mode, I do not see an option for text ID, only a ringer and picture ID. I am not sure if my LG 8100 had that feature. If it did, I never used it. Only thing the Razr 2 does is allows you to choose a ringer for the various alerts, including text/pic message.

I think the most annoying feature on the Razr 2 is having to open the flip and scroll with the volume button to change to vib/ringer mode. I am not sure if all the new Motos are that way. If I end up not keeping the Razr 2, I might hold out for the Rokr Z6c or Z6tv. I've been a big LG fan for years, and haven't had a Moto since the V60. But I haven't seen any new LGs that interest me, besides the LG Shine which is and overseas phone that works on th...

Same here. I have always had a LG except way back in the day. I really wanted the Razr2, but now everybody seems to be convincing me otherwise. I think I'm going to hold out for the blue razr2, to see if they work out kinks and make it better, or the Rokr Z6c. Yeah looks liek to me the Razr2 doesnt have custom Text Id ringers. that blows, I love that feature.

I always found the LGs really user friendly and with a lot of customization options. My LG 8100 was the brand new thing for VZW when I got it 2 years ago, and I loved the mp3 player, flashing lights, etc.

I never liked the old Razr because so many people had it and I didn't see what was so special about it. I thought the resolution was not good and didn't like the "boxy" style.

But this new Razr 2 is just gorgeous. I'm just not sure if I am 100% sold on the functionality of it yet. I can get past the UI, because I've been using the same one with VZW for years now. But that darn lack of shortcut to vib/ring mode kills me. I mean I had to flip open my 8100 before but at least I could just press and hold the * key instead of holding...

That's true. The new Razr2 is going to have pros and cons and that is a big con for me. I mess with my vib/ring alot too because of certain situations or places I go and im going to hate flipping the thing open and haveing to press the volume key instead of *. But that razr2's looks are just glorious.

I am not sure about the VZW model but on the Sprint model I am able to raise and lower the volume with the flip closed. You just have to keep hitting the volume keys.

Dittos. I lost my LG MUZIQ, so i thought i'd try the over-hyped V9m, what a mistake. Too many web crashes and freeze-up/reboots to number, texting, etc. I got caught up in the 'false' hype.
Avoid the RAZR2 hype folks.
