Went to Verizon Store---PHONE IS BLACK/Silver?

Kendallish

Well, I went to the Verizon Wireless store today in the hopes of purchasing the V9M. When I got there I LOVED the phone but then realized that it is Black on the sides with silver in the middle whereas everyone here (and on cnet.com) said it is brown with bronze on the face.

I went to three different verizon stores and every one of them had this black/silver version . Two of the verizon stores also only offered a $50 rebate.

I really want this phone but want the brown/bronze version. Any thoughts????? If you ahve the brown/bronze version, where did you purchase and how can I guarantee that that is the color I get?

I purchased the V9M today from the NYC store located at Madison/43rd Street. The $50 rebate was listed on the display, but they gave me the $100 rebate so it came to $149 with my NE2. The phone is what is referred to as Espresso color. Depending on the angle, it's mostly brown/bronze. I would not describe it as black/silver so perhaps there are other versions floating around out there.

any chance you can post photos of YOUR specific phone? I went to several stores, called verizon, chatted on line with Verizon and they are telling me that it is black with a bronze plate. I really want to get the brown version...

I bought mine this morning at the Santa Monica store at Wilshire Blvd and 26th. They have the espresso color also. The faceplace is a bronze color and the body is a dark brown that is almost black. I really like it. I thought all the Verizon stores are supposed to get this color. It's possible the store employee thinks it's black but it's really dark brown. Heck when I ask the rep for the new Razr, they brought me the W385. The reps are not always knowledgable, especially since this phone is brand new.

I checked it out at the Verizon store for a total of 15 seconds today. It was practically gold. Interesting looking to say the least. Still, the UI was absolutely horrible. Opening up the flip hurt my eyes.

I don't get it. I called 4 stores today just to see their response and one of the 4 said it was more of a bronze color, the other two said it was more of a black with silver. The inner portion that is more metallic was definately more of a silver. I did not think the outer portion looked brown AT ALL, looked black for sure.

I wonder if certain areas are getting different colors? Wierd.....

The phone if received from my online puchase is black/bronze or so it appears to me. Be advised battery life is poor and the phone very delicate mine already has a cracked outer screen. By the way it did not have any significant drrop either and yes I am very F***ing pissed about it. That's my $.02

Wouldn't the standard first year warranty cover the cracked screen since you didn't drop it? I would think it would. Why not give it a try!?

Just got mine from the Verizon store in Pasadena, CA. The phone is definitely a very dark brown and the inner face plate is bronze. This being said, when in certain light the bronze face plate makes the outer brown part appear "more brown". In other light, the phone does look almost black. What is very interesting is that on Verizon's website, the phone has been shown very clearly as dark brown. I just went online and it now is clearly black with a silver face plate. They changed it today and now I am confused. I think I would rather have black/silver vs. dark brown/bronze. I don't get it!

I am the opposite of you. I want the brown/bronze version and all that I have found is the black/silver. Could there be two versions? Want to trade!? 🤣

To clear this up... Cerizon has two colors for the Razr2. The Silver/Black, AND the Espresso/Bronze. It depends on what retail store you go to, but Verizon has 2 Colors...

I was just told by a Verizon rep that this phone is only made in one color. Black/silver. Which is it?

Also, on a separate note. I saw the Green ENV today in the store. It's not very appealing!

My phone is the Espresso (Brown/Bronze) color. Your VZ rep was incorrect about only one color being Black/Silver.

I don't understand why everyone is questioning the color of the RAZR2. I just got it on Tuesday and there is only 1 color for Verizon. Per MY VERY OWN EYES and Motorola's Website the color is DARK PEARL GRAY. NOT brown, not expresso. GOOD GOD!!! Sorry, I just don't understand the big dispute...

If you think the color is "dark pearl gray" you should have your eyes checked. Are you sure you are not talking about the sprint version?

Well, for everyone that is confused like me and still wants the brown version. I once again, wasted an hour and a half going to 4 different verizon stores and still only the black/silver version. Still want to get in to New York where someone said that they bought a brown version but cannot make it this week.

SO for now, anyone that has a brown version possibly purchased in NJ, which store did you get it ? I have been to alot of stores so far but would be willing to try a few more before ordering it from sales (611). Just want to get EXACTLY what I want (color, etc.) since I have to put out $200!

Let me put an end to this. I have this phone from Verizon. The technical term for the color is ESPRESSO. Dark Pearl Gray is the Sprint version. For all of you saying that the phone is silver and black, I know what you're talking about. This may seem weird, but listen. When I am in my room, the phone appears black and silver. However, for some reason, when I walk across the hall into my parents' room the phone looks BROWN. It's kind of weird but the color all depends on the lighting. But, the bottom line is THE PHONE IS ESPRESSO. Sometimes it does look silver and black, but its ONLY because of the lighting. There is ONLY one color for Verizon (As of Now) and so if you see the phone in the store and it looks silver/black a...
