V9M....What is the deal?????
I don't understand why Verizon keeps there launch dates sealed so tightly. Maybe they should do what Apple did with the iPhone and advertise the V9M? I have been with Verizon for years now, and I have to say that there advertisements are poor. The V9M looks like such a beautiful phone, PROMOTE IT! Make people anticipate it.

Verizon Wireless at one point did share launch dates but they found that giving a date that may or may not happen can be a larger issue in customer service. Release of a phone takes a while especially after the whole Broadcom issue. Verizon tests their phones rigorously, they don't want another T720 or V710 mishap. So giving a release on a phone that hasn't passed testing or hasn't been updated to specs wouldn't be in their best interest.

easy verizon grossly over hype the v710 release and verizon lied that the phone was fully bleutooth enable. The problem was in verizon v710 early firmware the bluetooth was so cripple it didnt even work blurtooth headset. Lawsuits ensued and verizon got one of it worst waves of bad publicity in the history of the company and they millions to lawyers to defend. So verizon now shoots for stealth phone releases and hopes that they bring cell greeks to buy the latest and greatest cdma phone. With sites like howards, phone scoop, cnet and others they get enough free advertising to suit their needs and hope their in store and agent sales force can do the rest. 😛

I'd be very wary of this rumor. VZW telesales and in-store reps are still clueless about the phone. If the phone really was coming out in 3 days, they would probably know and give release dates. Word is that they know of a phone 3 days to a week before it's released to familiarize themselves with it. I think if it were this close, we'd know about it by now, but there's always hope!

I will say that about a week before any new phone comes out we get all of our promotional material for the phone and we have not received anything yet. Also there is nothing on our internal site and phones usually show up there at least two weeks before it launches. So no to Aug 1.
