8830 VS Palm 755P?

I'm looking at getting a new phone and am considering the 755P and the 8830. I have been a long Palm fan and have owned several but never a treo. I am a paramedic and will be using the phone for medical programs, (there are versions for both), web browsing, e-mail, and GPS. I will also want to use my phone as a modem for my laptop. I also love e-books and used that a lot om my palms. Bluetooth is cool but not very important to be honest.

What do you guys think?

My Treo 650 earpiece went out today and I looked at the BB 8830. I'm probably going to wait until 755P comes out on VZW. I love my Treo 650. I haven't tethered, but my friend tethers his 700P and uses it all the time. My biggest dilemma is to pay $50 for a replacement 650, or upgrade now to BB 8830 with my New Every 2. I've had 650 for 2 1/2 years now without any problems. If the two were available right now, it would be the 755P. I have to have my calendar for appointments and access to e-mail. Hope this helps some.

Although I have had good luck in that location with my Treo 650, the 755p had mucho troubles connecting and staying connected. Apparently, the shrinking of the antenna to make it completely internal in the 755p lost some reception capabilities.

Too bad, because otherwise I liked the 755p as a nice upgrade from the 650. However, it MUST WORK AS A PHONE, otherwise it's outa here. I returned it to Verizon last week, and am now trying to decide whether to go to the Treo 700p (which a...

Hey...no biggie about the airplane. From the main screen, look for "Manage Connections" as an application. Then just turn connections off, and operate away on the plane.

Good Luck to your wife
