SIM Card?

How does this work, does Sprint and/or Verizonwireless provide a sim card for overseas use? Or is the gsm side unlocked and you just buy a local sim card?

Both Sprint and Verizon Wireless will provide SIM cards with the phones. Sprints GSM will be unlocked allowing you use your own SIM card. The Verizon version will be locked (surprising right? 👿 )

You are correct.

If Vodaphone isn't available. Verizon has their roaming agreements with other carriers as well.

Do you think someone will be able to unlock it later on/ I travel to countries where neither Vodafone nor T-Mobile operate.

There is a mini SD slot which you can probably load contacts on but don't think it will be truly like a SIM card. Not sure how it works as a worldphone over seas

If you order the global blackberry solution you get the sim card free. otherwise you can buy it for $20.
