Exchange Email - deleting messages from server

Is there an option to NOT delete messages from the server when deleting from the handheld?

I have my device synced with both my Home Outlook account and my work Exchange account.

My Outlook account is fine, but when I delete my Exchange messages, it also deletes from the server.

I have looked in all the likely Options/Settings menus on the device, but don't see this anywhere.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Brenda

there should be ...
why don't you try this and let me know if it helps:

1. go to the outlook account then click menu-> tools -> options

2. choose the account you need to reset, in this case will be the outlook account, by clicking on it

3. keep clicking "next" about 5 times, till you reach the screen where you can set the "Automatic Send/Receive" settings, click on the link " Advanced setting" on the bottom left on the screen just above the Previous soft key, it will take you to sub screen, you will see an option "When deleting messages"

4. from the drop down menu choose "keep them on server"

hope that helps it worked for my Gmail and Yahoo accounts.

This option is there for my home account (which is a POP account), but it is not there for my Exchange account, so unfortunately this did not work.

Thanks though...any other ideas would be very much appreciated!

Assuming you have an Exchange 2003 server, your phone should behave the same way that Outlook RPC over HTTP behaves. It is a live connection to Exchange so all changes made in any Outlook program accessing Exchange, whether Outlook on your desktop or Outlook mobile, will be made on the Exchange server.

If it is deleted from the desktop, you should see it go away on the phone and vice versa.
