UMA on 6086

Feb 26, 2007, 1:01 AM
Something that everyone seems to be overlooking is that the 6086 adds UMA. As far as I'm aware, T-Mobile is the only company currently in advanced stages of testing this new technology in the USA.

Chances of T-Mobile getting the 6086 in the next several months? Thoughts?

I wondered that myself, since if you look at the zero key on the phone (zoom in on it), there's clearly a t-zones hotkey... 🤨 So I think that T-Mo just might be getting this phone...

No, that's just Nokia' standard "i" icon for loading the browser home page. It's on the 0 key of all generic Nokias. It would do the same thing as a t-zones key, but that is not a t-zones logo.

Besides, that's technically a photo of the 6085, not 6086 (not that they really look any different).

So...any chance of T-Mo getting the 6086?

Yes, there's definitely a chance.

IMHO it's _very_ likely that t-mobile will get this phone.

T-Mobile may well be getting the 6086 for UMA. However, they are not the only company likely getting this phone. I know from first hand sources that Cincinnati Bell will be rolling out UMA to the local markets it serves within two months, and that the 6086 is likely the first phone that they will offer for it.

The European version has a better screen and camera so yes this is a low end phone.

Cincinnati Bell Wireless is currently selling the 6086 and offering WIFI on it.
