Will the data services still work on the EDGE network or will it be 3G only??? Reason i ask is that I travel a decent amount, and a large number of my areas are not 3G capable... If the 3G version doesnt work on Edge there is no point in me holding out for that one

well all new phones are currently 3g phones as is the iphone. the edge is basically an enhanched data option on the phone. (faster internet speeds) so if you are not receiving edge it will download the next speed on the 3g. if you dont recieve 3g, than you shouldnt be capable of using the internet. unless you are recieving some other sources. such as Wifi or possibly Tmobile towers (they offer edge also). if you have more questions call customer service at 800-331-0500 or 611 from your mobile phone. and ask to speak with advanced networking service.

Above info confusing to you I'm sure. Have drivers with Nokia N-75's, with 3G. 3G not avail., phone will auto revert to Edge, which I'm sure you know is widely avail. If you want a real deal on an iphone & don't think you necessarily need all the features of the new iphone. Wait about a month & you'll be able to p/up old iphone for prob. about $200. I've had one for almost a year & wouldn't leave home without it & wouldn't consider using ANY other phone whatsoever !!! 😎
