As much as I hate the iphone hype and apples greedy ways, I think I'm denying my love for the iphone

for a 1.0 version of the phone, there are a few items that could use the kinks worked out of... but it took less than a week to forget about my Nokia 6682 (which my sister inherited) and my old Nano (which my mom inherited)... you will have to pry this phone from my cold dead body!

Literally pry it from your body?

Warning! iPhone is not to be taken internally!

That's exactly the transition I made, as well. For the most part, I'm loving the iPhone but there are certain things my old dependable 6682 could do (albeit via 3rd party apps) that iPhone can't and that could end up killing my joy if they aren't addressed in software updates.

1. The biggie...? Voice dialing! I mean, c'mon. VoiceSignal on my Nokia was the greatest thing since sliced bread. iPhone needs this badly.

2. The ringtone thing isn't a huge deal for me but, then again, why oh why was such a basic feature left out?

3. The ability to blacklist or whitelist certain numbers. Blackballer on S60 was VERY handy for those repeated and unwanted spam callers.

4. I want to be able to set priviledges for different bluetooth devices....

thats one of the things i LOVE about the iPhone. how simple it is to use. sure other phones may be able to do more but there so confusing I could never figure them out. And I'm talking about pocket pc phones such as the palm 750.

like you said most of the flaws in the iphone will be fixed in a later update (hopefully soon)

Voicedialing, extremely important to me! On iphone, subscribe to Voicedial on ATT network. $5.00 per mo. & well worth it, many, many, other features & very clear & precise. Manually dial *08 on iphone, which connects to voicedial. Your bluetooth headset will redial. Use redial to connect & remember redial only connects to last # you dialed, not recieved. So you can still get calls & then use redial to connect, with headset. Not perfect, but works good. You can also download all contacts to voicedial on your PC & correct & change. 😎
