...i don't understand why you can't give it a little "break". It is Apples FIRST and ONLY phone. Give them ten years. This phone WILL upset the market, and it will go down in infamy. And it does have a removable sim slot, retards.

I beg to differ with you...... OLD GSM "SIMS" do work in the 3G phones, you just can't access the 3G network....... However, in my phone(much better than this over priced, under devoloped piece of sh##) I can select to use GSM ONLY, and the OLD SIM will work with NO PROBLEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For all of the "Retards" who actually went out and stood in line for HOURS, maybe even 1/2 a day, or so, you have my SYMPATHY..........really.... you got TOTALLY RIPPED OFF...... What you NOW HAVE is a phone, that can't send MMS, can't create documents, can't take video, can't use other SIM CARDS(which could save you a TON OF MONEY) to access networks outside the U.S. & stay tuned, more disappointments will be brought your way by a company that ...

I do own an iPhone and believe me I was VERY disapointed of the lack of all the things all the new phones today have. VERY VERY disapointed. I wasn't one of those idiots that stood in line since the butt crack of dawn waiting for one. But I was very into it ever since it was anounced. Some of the things it's lacking can be added on with a simple software update, which Apple will be sending out in a month or so. But the phone right now and its ablities are far beyond those current phones, and trust me, I've owned many many phones, from imported phones to pdas. The EDGE, yes it can't compare to 3G, but it's still pretty fast. Think of it as DSL and not Broadband. MMS.....I can just email the pics for now. GPS....it's freaking awesome, but the ...

How many movies is that? Songs?

Wow, that was an amazingly stupid argument/response considering the entire point to removing a sim is to switch phones.

Astonishing really...Like saying I love eating peanuts, they keep me healthy because I'm allergic to them and they could kill me.

Maybe it would make more sense if someone scrambled your brain with a meat cleaver, even then it's a stretch.

If it isn't exactly the same as existing AT&T sims, then is it close enough to work in another AT&T phone if you need it too? Has anyone working for AT&T or Apple tried it?

Thanks for a reply

The SIM can be taken out of the iPhone and put in another phone. The iPhone will not accept other SIMs, only the one currently active on its account.

Yes the card works in any other phone.

I work for Att and I have to take my card out half way through my day to use another phone while i charge the iphone.

Youll get a random text message as someone leaves you a voice mail becuase of the visual voicemail feature.

Otherwise it works exactly that same, just no ipod.

Wow! you must be an ATT employee or someone who just likes to waste your minutes. For all of you who do not know, when using *8 on ATT all calls that would normally be m2m are charges at regular rates. In other words no m2m! And if you are not in a ATT coverage area and you are roaming then *8 doesn't even work. A better solution would be to use the iphones speed dials. Do you really talk to more than 8 different people on a regular basis.

What a frickin idiot! Since your already buying two, tell your mommy and daddy to give you enough allowance to buy one for me so I can just run it over, because thats abll the good it will do is to be a speed bump. Who in their right mind would buy a phone that has stuff that "will be added" Have fun taking your phone into the repair center every 2 weeks for an apple update to add features that any new MP3 phone already has, or just throw more money away for apple's accessories! I'll even record video of you getting frustrated with it with my mogul or M1 and post it on YouTube so you can at least watch it later and have it freeze up since you'll have such a slow connection.

First let start with i am a techno geek and was hot for this phone a few months ago...NOT ANYMORE! Let me begin by saying that with all the issues my wife and myself have had with our iPods..never again will i buy an apple product.Between the battery life issues on both of ours and the constant pausing on mine.I had the extended warranty and etc instead of replacing it they sent it to a repair shop, for 2 weeks, upon return they said nothing wrong with it and it was in chinese and all 12gigs of music gone. A bit "Pissed yeah.

To address the issues of MJSLA, it is an apple product....the OS is not really an issue but from a functionality issue the Treo 700wx blows this out of the water. I can afford the iPhone (a dozen if I wanted)but who ...

Oh, give me a break. I simply can't take all that garbage seriously. If iPods suck so much, why are they so ubiquitous? why do all other mp3 players claim to be iPod killers yet suck so much?

Your assumptions of the iPhone are grounded firmly in fantasy. Somebody review one and come up with a real argument. PLEASE.

My poor mis informed reader...again being a techno geek...I am here to tell you that in true apple fashion, pushing out a inferior product. After being on our 4th ipod I am here to tell you that iPod is a piece of crap. That is well known in most techno circles...in spite of its market share. You have to wonder why Apple's new policy on warranty work is to ship out to an "authorized" dealer instead of replacing. That is because of all the returns.

I am sorry, if I spend $600 on phone, I should not have to wait for "Updates" and not be able to use mp3s for a ringtone. In addition iPods will be going the way of the dodo because most current stereo systems wether home or auto play mp3s.

Dear misinformed poster.. Basing sweeping generalizations on your anecdotal evidence is almost not worthy of a response.. If the majority or large percentage of iPod batteries were defective then it would be everywhere and people would not buy the devices. The people who dislike the iPod because of its limitations are NOT ITS MARKET! Some people.. a small niche(which you claims to be part of), prefer OGG support or an FM modulator, or FLAC support , or want to run linux on their mp3 player.. that's their prerogative. The iPod fits the needs of its target markets, which is the average user and incidentally 90% of all users.

And your reason for the ipod going the way of the dodo is simply... stupid. So my home and car can play mp3s...

Your love of the iPod is simply that of a person who "Needs" the "iPod" because it is the craze on the market, not what is a quality product. In spite of what you think more people than not are disenchanted with the iPod and the whole iTunes thing, going out and purchasing other mp3 players upon demise of their current player. In addition Apples customer service leaves a great deal to be desired. As your portable mp3 player is not what I was addressing...you have totally missed the point.

My point is that the iPhone is an overpriced glorified ipod. That in its rush to go to market, it has left the consumer hanging. In the Metro NYC area people are finally catching up on activations in addition ATT/Cingular service in the city is spotty as...

I think I know this poster, it's Elisabeth Hasselbeck from The View. Sound like her idiot rantings. That being said.

I love how people think some magical firmware upgrade is going to fix this phone. Yes some firware fixes will add some features from their wish list. BUT.... some of the features on their wish list will take hardware changes. I don't think Apple will do this, they will just come out with Iphone 2 or whatever they will call it. So I'm glad this person has so much money on their hands that he/she can just buy another phone when it comes out. I can think of plenty of other items I would rather spend %600 bucks for. than a cell phone.
