I was told Samsung has issues

I went to Verizion and the salesman was showing me some phones but, I told him I wanted one with WiFi and he told me that WiFi is a bad idea because you can corupt the software from virus'. I was looking at the 760 and he suggested I don't get the i760 because Samsung has had problems with their phones. I like the look and feel of this phone and for me it's going to be a toss up between this one and the XV6800. I've been waiting for the XV6800 but, it seems that phone is never coming out. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of Samsung having problems with their phone lineup.

All phones have issues. I have this phone, and I don't have any problems with it. I use wi-fi at work and at home, and I turn wi-fi off when I don't need it.

I have had two Samsung I760's in the past week or so. The phone is horrible it keeps on bogging up and locking. I originally thought I had a bad unit so I had Verizon send me out another brand new one. It does the same exact thing. Wirelesssync bogs up the phone and then all the memory is locked up trying to Sync the data causing all other programs to fail. They really did a horrible job QAing this device.

I have been using the phone for 2 weeks and have had no issues- i had a 2gb memory card prior to getting the phone and stated using it immediately- maybe that helped? I keep learning what capabilities the phone has and am impressed.

I originally wanted the 6800, but after using the key numbers on the face, I would not switch. It is very hard to dial while driving on the touchscreen

Can't you use a BT headset and voice dial?

Hope you are remembering to close programs in the Memory menu. That could easily be your problem.

On a PC, when one clicks on the X to colse an apllication, it closes it and removes it from memory. Can that be accomplished on a WM6 device without having to hunt it down and close it in the system management screen?

Why would they make it work so that when you X out, it does NOT close the application?

There are programs that do that. Personally, I think there should be an X and a - (close and minimize) with minimize serving the purpose of what the X currently does, and the new X closing programs.

Another good change is bringing back the toolbar instead of those softkeys.

All phones will have their own issues. I never listen to personal opinions on a brand unless there is something absolutely difinitively obvious in a pattern of what goes wrong and is unique. All manufactures will product bad products, no one is perfect.

I have never had a problem with this phone in the month I have owned it now and I love it.
