I would like to know this too. I can't get my pictures taken on this phone to cover the whole screen. Also the pictures when used to identify a contact are small. Any Ideas anyone?

Hello! I have had my 8700 about a week, and I am also experiencing some wallpaper not covering the whole screen. Some wallpaper sites do and others don't. The reps at Verizon seemed to think this was normal. They even looked up the phone to see if it was a software issue, but apparantley not. At least not yet. So for the mean time I guess we just have to live with it. Such a shame, the screen resolution is great, and so is the size. Hope this helps! 😕

Turn the resolution on the Camera the whole way up. That should fix the problems with the wallpapers taken with your camera.

I wonder if there is a way, but probably not, that you could make the wallpaper fit the screen when you download from the Get It Now Pix? Where it says Get New Pictures. The ones you pay for and download. SWome fit and others don't. I would say, most of them don't fit. The screen isn't that huge where it shouldn't fit. The phone cost enough, so I sure would like the whole screen to be covered in a picture. Instead of the white bars on the sides, and pix in the middle. Did anyone run into that problem? Hopefully, it's not just my phone.Thsnks for any info! ☚ī¸

i just tried that and i don't think it makes the picture ID come up big. i agree that this is a big fault in the phone. if you can take these beautiful 2.0 megapixel pictures, you shouldn't have to squint at the picture ID when someone calls you. i seriously gave up on assigning pic IDs

I transferred my images using Bitpim with a data cable and it resized all of my images to a perfect fit.

If you take a picture at the Highest Res (1600x1200) and crop the picture, you can make it cover the whole screen.

I had to play with it for a bit to get it to just the right size. The only way I could get it to fit was counting the number presses it takes to get to the right size..

If you play with the crop feature you will see that if you press the left directional arrow and hold it, it will move pretty fast. If you press it and let go, it moves rather slow...

41 times is the magic number to make them fit the entire screen. (Kinda repetitive though!)

Well maybe this helps.

p.s. Haven't Tested this for use with the caller-id feature. (I doubt that will work since this is limited to size constraints to be able to show the num...
