Name Display With Incoming Calls/Texts

I have a pretty basic question about the VX8700. For some reason, when I get a call or a text, the actual phone number is being displayed instead of the name (since these numbers are in my phonebook). I had the 8000 before this and it was never an issue (name was always displayed unless it wasn't in my phonebook). Also, I backed up my contacts from the 8000 using Backup Assistant and then restored them to the 8700 so I wouldn't have to re-enter them. I doubt this has anything to do w/ it, but I thought I would mention it. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks for your help.

I don't have the phone but something came to mind with your post. Is there a caller-id setting on the phone that may be off?

Some phones are kinda picky with phone numbers. You might want to see if you have the area code entered with your contacts. I have seen samsungs do this all the time.

I just realized what is causing this not to work correctly, so I am wondering if there is a bug in the software. Any of the numbers that are stored with *82 in front of them are not displaying the name when my phone rings. If I take the *82 out, it displays fine. This was not an issue w/ my older VX8000, so I can't imagine that this shouldn't work on the VX8700. I have *82 stored with the numbers because my cell # is blocked. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks for the help and responses so far.

I just got off the phone with LG customer support. Since this phone is so new they agree that it is a software issue. They are going to foward the complaint to upper management. Then they will determine, whether or not, to create a software patch or a firmware update. If so, they said they would call me to let me know. Hopefully they will take care of this. It's not a big deal, but it is a convenience thing...
