Once and for ALL -- LISTEN !!!

PLEASE!!!!! SOMEONE LISTEN!!!!!

Me, my wife and teenage daughter have had "THIRTEEN" of these V3xx's over the last two months BECAUSE OF THIS "CALL-QUALITY ISSUE".
AND... AT&T has acknowledged it, as well as MOTO !!! BUT !... they say most people are not picking up on it, and it IS otherwise a great phone... so the problem stays... especially with the V9 and it's counterparts on the horizon. The V9 has Crystal-Talk (as you all know). So...

Now back to this problem. You're all hearing it... those who aren't noticing it are the fortunate ones.

It is a slightly-distorted, OVER-BASS-Y, and MUFFLED, sound... and YES, turning off the "Bass Boost" within the Music Player does make a slight difference, very slight.

Most callers sou...

I don't know...I sympathize with your problem, but I just don't hear it. One thing people forget is that call quality is a 2-way street, your phone AND the phone of who you're speaking. I am quite happy with the quality of the Razr, and especially love it's volume...I don't have to stick a finger in my other ear anymore when I'm talking outside!

I am quite perplexed about 13 phones in 2 months! Did you think after trying 3 or 4 with the same "issue", it would somehow disappear on say the 8th or 9th? It seems a little absurd, and I don't know how cingy would even allow you to do this...that's a lot of "defective" phones that need to be "fixed", and repackaged, and those costs always eventually get passed down to us, the consumers. Now ...

Thanks for your response.
Yes, it's excessive. But it was that store managers decision to keep trying additional units for various reasons.
She was convinced they were faulty at first. Then she kept trying for newer Firmware releases. It's been crazy. We didn't like any of their other phones (neither did she). Nothing else compares right now. AT&T is stuck in vortex right trying to milk to iPhone for all it's worth before they release any other great phones (Razr2 V9, VšŸ˜Ž.
So, today's the day. I guess I'll be turning this in.

Sorry about your problems. I have not had any issues with mine. It has been a great phone.

I agree. This is one of the best phones I've ever had. I can almost EVERYTHING with this phone.

Call quality? Sounds great to me. There are times when it gets "bassy", but all you have to do is back off the ear piece slightly and everything is clear. I've only had to do this a couple of times.
Most of the time, the calls are top-notch.

Speaker phone is great!

Great phone for just $40 (bought with an upgrade).

Thanks guys. I went to the AT&T store with the intention of giving my V3xx up. BUT, I couldn't find another phone that even compared to this one in any way. Especially the way it feels in my hand.

I'll just learn to live with it and see if the RAZR2 is any better.
Thanks for the tip on reducing the "Bassy" nature of the phone.

I appreciate all the input and comments.
Sincerely,
Jay

I am on my third V3xx and each one has had the exact problem described here. I primarily get a phone to talk so it is very distracting. My wife got a Nokia 6555 at the same time. I have tried multiple times calling an automated attendant with both phones and the Nokia has had perfect sound, but many times the motorola has muffled and disappearing sound. I even ask people to repeat sections of their conversation. I recently tried the V3xx to one ear and the Nokie 6555 to the other ear on a conference all. The V3xx was very poor compared to the Nokia. I really like its features and it looks nice, but if it " don't" work, it's got to go. One another point I was in an area where I had known from previous experiences the service was ver...
