HTC Wing / P4350 (Herald)
Question for current WING users!
Hello, I am considering this phone as well as the DASH and was wondering a few things. For WING users:
1 does this phone work well with editing word and excel documents?
2 I plan on getting the data plan but not initially. So my question is do you have to pay for the data plan in order to use WiFi?
3 When you use AIM or messenger services on the dash does it require data plan and does it charge per text msg? if so are there applications that would allow you to use messengers without deducting txt msgs but just uses data?
4 Does anyone know of a 3rd party application website?
5 Really how much does this phone lag? I have read reviews and all say it lags on performance when shifting screens like when you open the keyboard and so...

Well here we go if you must have office editing capability hands down over the dash anyday. Some formatting may be lost on large and highly formatted docs if edited on the wing, viewing is just fine.
You can use wifi without a data plan just dont expect to be able to login at tmobile hotspots.
It has its own host of IM clients that you can use, but all require data usage. gmail thru WM6's email set up can work with just tmobile web(5.99) on your plan.
I would say just gogle for the applications but I have a small host of applications that cause the least bit of interference with the OS and address memory issues email me and i'll send what I can.
It lags slightly on changing screens but with a few improvements and a soft reset in ...

i am a tmobile corporate dealer and just received my phone thru spec account care and ilove it. I recently upgraded from the dash, (which is a great device) as far apps and the reason i choose this phone is simple. I used heavy amounts of data on my plan and i watch tv thru my slingbox on my phone in addition, i have sirius satellite radio on the device its self. With stereo blutooth connectivityu on this device iam always at home watching my fave shows...or radio!

There are many many WM sites out there, one i personally us is geekstoolbox.com and for tricking your phone, speeding up the rom and make it do cool stuff i tell my customers to go to surrealnetworks.com.
