Black Jack or Blackberry?

Hello-

I am deciding between the BJ and 8700. I need this phone for work, so I am able to receive and send emails. I was set on the Black Jack, but then a cing. rep. told me that only a blackberry notifies you of a email. Other phones you need to go to the email setting and check. Any input would be appreciated since this will be my first smart phone.
thanks!

no thats bs you can set your bj to recieve email right away with ms direct push. However if you are using this phone for work, I would say to go with 8700 because you can edit word/excel files and more while the bj can only view them because its a smartphone edition of wm5 and not a full ppc. 8700 doesnt have all the multimedia jazz but if you are using this phone for work and need to edit files then go with the 8700, or 8125/8525 as those are full ppc's that can edit files.

go with the blackjack, works great with corp. email, and the 8700 is like carrying brick around. I went from the 8700 to the Blackjack and I love it!

I average about 40-50 emails a day and around 2000-2500 minutes per month for business. I went from the 8700 to the Blackjack. If you are going to really use the phone for emails use the 8700. The WM5 email is not even close to the Blackberry system. However, I thought the Blackjack as a phone was better. The BLackberry is ok as a phone. But, I did return the Blackjack due to very short battery life. Even after adjusting the power usage to its lowest settings, I still couldn't deal with the very short battery life. I have been a Blackberry user for 5 years now as well as windows mobile user. Go with the Blackjack if you won't be a heavy user and you just need casual email. If it's for business and business usage, forget the Blackjac...

I use the same usage as above and use mail2weblive and get my emails just like i did with the 8700. i changed the settings from 3g to edge, cant really tell and it gives you about 40% more battery life.
