Big Problem with the little Blackjack.
Hi all,
i am writing from Germany. I just got my Samsung Blackjack from Cingular twwo days ago. The phone is not avaiable in Germany so i orderd it via ebay.
Two little problems i can´t fix (hope someone can help me)
(1) When i turn on the phone, after i complete the PIN query, i get an error message "Unknown SIM status (Error0)". I have to press the "Done" button an after a few seconds everything is working fine. Anyone know how to get rid of this error-messsage?
(2) If i turn off the BJ completely (or just switch of the "Phone mode" in the "wireless manager" the time an date are lost every time.
All other things are saved, only time and date will be lost.
Are there any relations between these two problems?

Since you are not on Cingular's network, you may experience weird symptoms like you described. The time issue is clearly related to this. The Blackjack automatically checks and sets its clock based on Cingular's clock when turned on and periodically as well I believe. You should be able to turn off the auto clock setting in the phones "settings" menu for the time.
I'm not sure about the other issue except to say that the SIM card is probably for a German network and does not play well with your phone since it is Cingular branded and has hooks therfore. The phone you bought is unlocked I assume however you will probably have to live with clearing that message each time.

Weired things can happen if you are trying to use Cingular locked phone with non-carrier SIM.

You can set your device to sync date and time with your computer instead of the carrier network. Consult your owners manual.
