i didnt say it would cost 50 bucks!!

i just said that the a707 will be 50 bucks, and since they hav pretty much the same feature set, it will be hard to convince customers to fork another $150 for the nokia.

ppl wonder why nokia high end phones dont sell well in america. well for starters, americans dont care too much for smartphones, and your average customer will not spend 250 for a phone.

this thing better be priced around 150 like the 3125 or its gonna tank like the 6682.

how is it that verizon can price their phones for so much cheaper, and cingular tries to nickle and dime their customers on the price?

case and example V3i vs V3m (heck, the regular v3 costs more than the V3m!!!)

I'm thinking 200 with 2 year contract, 300 with 1 year contract and 400 with no contract.

Not really. The Nokia is a smartphone. There's a world of powerful software the N75 supports that can't run on the A707. Heck, Nokia's full web browser alone is probably worth the extra $150.

I don't know if it's worth $150, but the web browsers on the 3rd Edition of S60 (which the N75 is) are a thing of beauty.

From what my Nokia rep says, and i take EVERYTHING he says with a ROCK of salt not just a grain, it'll be $199.99 after MIR. Supposedly they're trying to keep the price down because this is one of the phones that will support Cingy's new music service and they're worried that with the impending launch of the Samsung "Sync" for $49.99 after MIR, that will steal some of the sales based on price seeing they're going to have the same feature set outside of the UI. Obviously the Nokia being a smart phone will be priced more but they're trying to grab as much of the music crowd as possible by keeping it pretty reasonable considering what it will do.

The Sync will HAVE to be impressive though. I saw a working N75 @ a data roadshow and it wa...

knowing cingulars reliability in getting cell phones out on an actual release date, im guessing this phone will be out mid-february, but it will get pushed back to mid-may due to some imaginable "bugs" that cingular makes up.

And there we have it! I JUST saw a friend of mine @ the mall and he showed me the Samsung A707 AKA, the "Sync"...In MY opinion, not a bad looking phone...just about the exact size as my Razr. Get this...THEY'RE BEING TOLD NOT TO SELL IT...IT HAS A BUG IN THE SOFTWARE!!!!! This comes directly from a rep in the Cingy corp location. But he did confirm it would be $50 after MIR and data package purchase.

The regular price on this phone from the Company Nokia is $550 without contract.
I think cingular is going to sell it for $399 on 1YA abd $350 on a 2YA.
