😡

I just both this phone, except when someone calls or text-only a number shows up-no name.

Get this-I have gone to AT&T 4 times (w/each time spending over an hour). Not one "specialist" can figure out what is wrong w/the phone. All numbers are located on the SIM card and the address book. Have tried to trade SIM card to same model, different phone and that doesn't work. Different phone and caller ID works. Can someone help me please!!???

ARE YOU USING A 1 IN FRONT OF THE AREA CODE?

No I only have the area code. Does every number need a 1 in front of it? I have about 3 names that do show up but they don't have a 1 in front of the number.

you need to a +1 in front of each number and the names will come up correctly.

You shouldn't have to put a 1 in front of the area code, I've never done so, & I've never had any problems w/ names showing up on caller ID.

The bigger issue I have w/ my N75 is that the caller ID is inconsistent w/ the cover closed. Sometimes when a call or text comes through I can see the info on the front screen, other times, not at all until I open the phone.

Despite all the crazy inconsistent mannerisms of this phone, I'm discovering new features all the time, which keep me interested enough to hold on to this phone until the next gen.

The caller id will not work if contacts are on sim card. Go to contacts and select options. From there mark all contacts. Then copy to phone memory. Then you will be able to see caller id, and also add a picture, add a ringer profile, etc... Also the voice command should work. Please let me know if this works. If not, I have another solution.

I have done this about 5 times now (copied over the numbers). That doesn't work.

Damn! That sucks! I say try and get a new phone if possible because many of the first released phones are defective. Also it can be due to the theme you have on the phone as well sometimes the wrong theme can mess stuff up. Furthermore make sure you go to settings> configuration> phone> cover display. Then scroll down to Sleep Mode. Make sure sleep mode is off. I had this problem and the front display kept messing up. Also make sure under cover display that you have no screen saver active. Screen savers cause lots of problems too. One more thing, make sure when someone calls you if they have a one in front of their number or a different area code. Because you will need to change all of your contacts by adding the area code or a 1....
