Beware of Bull****!

I did a little investigating and noticed that most of teh people posting messages about the N75 have neither done a phone review and only seem to be concerned with the N75. Do they work for Nokia? Is it some kind of conspiracy? I do know that the N75 will come out when Nokia and Qualcomm make a deal on WCDMA technolgy. As far as all the bullshit about talking about talking to cingular or nokia rep, the bullshit about when the phone will actulally come out, the speculation that cingular is just waiting to brand the phone at&t is all hogwash. Please only post factual information and stop with all the bullshit.

Do you have any idea how ludicrous that sounds? If it weren't for quasi-informed speculation, the internet would be dead. People would be out of jobs (the stock market?) The boards on this site would certainly be rather boring to read through. Lots of people have lots of somewhat conflicting hints of information as to why this phone hasn't yet/will be any minute/won't ever be released. I've held one in my hand, spoke directly - in person - to a Nokia rep, who himself spoke to a guy at Cingular who is part of the team the makes such decisions, and I've seen his information confirmed & contradicted on this particular board. The point is: no one knows for sure, but lots of people have fragments of the truth. Having part of the truth does...

Qualcomm owns CDMA patents. Period.

In Europe the frequencies that they use for WCDMA are different from the ones that are used in the US but the technology is still the same. It is still WCDMA built on CDMA technology that Qualcomm owns the rights to.

By utilizing your esteemed research skills I think you can find several Nokia phones that use WCDMA. Anytime and anywhere a phone is sold that uses CDMA technology (any incarnation) Qualcomm gets paid a royalty.

Considering that the revenue lost by bringing a product to market too late for it to be competitive overshadows the licensing royalties that a company has to pay to sell it in the first place; I don’t see how this could be the real, or main, source of the delay.

However...

Now seriously folks, lets not condem Larue for trying to clean up the forums a bit. it could use a bit of cleaning, lol. and well we all fly off the handle sometimes. Larue, your post was enlightening but lets face it, your logic is seriously flawed. just because a person has nevr reviewd another phone and is seemingly obsessed with a certain phone, doesn't make them spies. uh look at the Iphone forum people are more obsessed with that phone then this one. Also your post about the qualcomm deal though seeming like the answer we have all waited for, has no merit. wheres the uh well proof? All you have done is added to the Bullshit, which i must say bravo, youv;e done what your supposed to do in an online forum.

Now for all of you, lets n...

I think that's the first time I've ever seen ANYONE apologize in a forum. I too, get fed up sometimes with all of the speculation. However, I do understand that this is the point of this forum (at least at this time).

BTW... I've got a better feeling about the phone coming out this week (possibly next), than I have since this phone was announced.

I did read somewhere the royalty was 4% of the unit sales price for the deal that was eluded too. Not sure how accurate that is but I see why a shorter term agreement would be favorable.

After the Bell Chat.

Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) said it has paid Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOM) $20 million for the use of third-generation patent licenses in the second quarter. The companies are also in the midst of negotiations over the renewal of a major cross-license agreement due to expire on Monday.

Just as a note the N76 maybe available Monday or Tuesday next week.
