turning off email alerts ????

Anybody know how to turn off email alerts. The constant beep..beep...beep. New phone to me, I made the mistake of checking emails, and now every time an email arrives in my account that constant beep...beep...beep buggin' me.

yea, all u do is sign into ur email account...then hit "options", go down to "email alerts", and hit disable
