Camera Shutter Sound (How to disable it...)

I've got the A707 SYNC and I can't seem to figure out how / if you can disable the shutter sound. I can only change it to one of three (all annoying) sounds. If there's a way to disable this please let me know!

Thanks.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I'm hoping they will at least consider putting the "off" choice in the next firmware update. Later.

I did more research, yea, still no way to kill the sound. I ended up returning the phone anyway because the A2DP sounded bad on deep bass, etc. Oh well...

There is no way to kill but you can lower the volume to the lowest and it's very quiet then. Easiest is to put phone on "Airplane" profile while taking picutres.

it's for a security purpose... you know how lotta people took pictures of girls secretely or take pictures of exam and send em all to their classmates or friends thats why they are not allowing new cellphones (most of them) to have "off" feature on any camera phones (that's what i heard from the "expert" haha) which i do agree with this theory...

Alright, this is definately a violation of the phone owner's rights as well, because it's their phone, and even though such acts are morally wrong, it is not harming anyone. Perhaps it is violating the ladies privacy, but anything can do that. If they wish to prevent such acts, don't wear skirts. It solves the issue.

Besides, there are ways around this little issue of a non-silent mode.

1) hold your finger over the speaker. Sutter 1 sounds like a very low volume cough. Easily mistakable. If you incapable of hitting the "OK" button to snap the picture at the same time, just set the beautiful timer.

2) VIDEO!!!!!!! There is no sound when the video is started or ended!!! Seriously, this is worse than pictures, so why did they miss it?!...

Go to TheSyncHole. They have instructions on how to disable the shutter sound.
