Heard nothing but great things about this phone. My buddy got one and I was impressed with it completely, so I got one myself mainly for the fact that it looks great and can play some of my favorite mp3's. Along with the phone I got a Kingston 2GB MicroSD card so that my Samsung T629 phone could play up to 500 of my favorite songs. Well the problem I first faced was that the phone didn't recognize mp3's encoded higher than 128kbps. A few would play with bit rates higher than that, but not most. A lot of other CNET members have had similar issues that I've read about on the forums. So to get around this, I used BlazeMedia Pro to re-encode all the mp3's I wanted to play on the phone to the quality of 128kbps.

The problem is, after I transfe...

I am having the same problem with not being able to see my mp3s on my memory card. I also bought a Kingston 2GB MicroSD card thinking I'd have plenty of space for songs I wanted. I was able to access my mp3s when I had only a handful of songs on the card, but once I got about 200 songs on the card they no longer show up on my phone.

Did you ever have any luck solving this problem?

Hello! I have been a T629 user for almost a year now. I haven't had any problems with the memory card and I have used maybe 3 different brands in the phone. I believe you are all having problems because you are trying to use a 2GB card. Remember this phone came out over a year ago. The higher memory card compatibility comes with the newer the phone. I have used a Motorola, Nokia, and SanDisk 1GB cards with NO PROBLEMS. I have pictures, ringtones, mp3's and anything else I want to carry with me. That is the only thing I can think of. My card has also NEVER been HOT! So your phones are probably working to hard to read the card that is TO BIG.

Here are other specs for songs on this phone:
NO MORE than 192 bitrate
MP3 ONLY

I'm having a Sandisk Micro SD problem. When I insert the card, my phone doesn't even see it. I think it's not going in all the way.

Which way does it go in and how far does it insert into the phone??

Thanks.
