Sharp Hiptop 3 / Sidekick 3

i have seen the SK3 make and receive calls with a cingular sim card. we did not try to send a text or surf the net. Cell One did not work in it. those are the only 2 we tried. when we put the cingular sim in the phone it powerd right up and then went to the settings menu and then to the network setting(i think). selected search for network and selected cingular and it started working WITH OUT an unlock code. i hope this helps.

hey does anyone have a 2 gig card and if so does it work ok on the sk3

Im thinking about getting the motorola H700 bluetooth for the sidekick. Is it a good one for it?

Im not sure if this has been posted or not but I got a sk3 yesterday in the mail and i already own a MDA, now with the mda i have the unlimited internet plan and i know that wont work with the sKiii but i was wondering if the skiii plan will work with the mda being that i would just need to have unlimited internet.....

Well I started this account because I need some help with my sidekick 3. Hopefully someone can help me out.

I'm not sure if anyone else is having a problem with the trackball on their sk3 but I surely am. I've had this phone for less than 2 months and now the trackball chooses not to scroll down the screen when I want it to. Its fine scrolling up, left, and right but not down. I've had to use the left control pad to go down. I'm so used to using just the trackball and this sucks. And after just 2 months? Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Any suggestions to fix the problem? Please help!!!

what would happen if i buy the sidekick without the data plan?

i know i won't have internet and instant messaging, but i will still be able to text message.

but will there be any other cons to no getting the data plan (ie. losing personal data)?

honestly guys anyway can you compare verizon to t mobile cause i have be debating to go to t mobile from verizon jsut for a sidekick and i dont know if its worth it.. how to the services compare can u please help with feedback

I am a Sprint user, the Sanyo MM-7400. I have become dismayed with Sprint recently (they tried to screw me on an upgrade), & am considering a crossover to T-Mobile.

The 2 phones I am considering at this point are the Sidekick 3 & the Blackberry Pearl.

I am scared by the SK3's poor reviews on this board. Review-wise, the Pearl sounds like a better phone.

My primary uses: text messaging (I'm a text message addict!) & emailing. I do both constantly. I also like to surf to various sites, too, like my bank, myspace, etc. I also am into having separate ringtones for each friend, & catchy ringtones for text message alerts.

Those things considered, which would be the better phone for me? I think I am making a choice tomorrow, & ...

I read some of the reviews and a few ppl mentioned not being able to send or receive pix on the SK3??? I hope that isn't true. I have a 5month old and Im always taking pix and sending them to my family and friends. 😳

My Sidekick fell and then one of my cousins accidently stepped on it. The screen came off but it did not crack, the bottom half does turn on audio works lights works. The bottom half some orange thin wire sticking out so does the screen, can it be fixed?

🙂 Can you use a bluetooth headset to listen to music via your sidekick and what are some other cool things using a bluetooth and sidekick 3. im interested in buying one for my birthday which is coming up early next month!!!

am i really seeing that the bluetooth is for cars...

not regular bluetooth like motos and stuff where you can transfer ringtones

hello everyone, this is long...but PLEASE someone bear with it and reply.
in november of 06 i bought a SK3. i was happy with it until i decided i needed more minutes...then after several days of TERRIBLE customer service, i discovered that with that kind of account i have (smart access, t-mobile) i could only have 300 anytime minutes with the SK3 unlimited Add-on. so i removed the internet and boosted my anytime minutes. after a while i forgot to charge my phone once...and then thats when i discovered the HORRIBLE problem....yes, its horrible if you depend on your contacts list being there when you turn your phone on... APPARENTLY you NEED the internet to store your contacts? what kind of CRAP is that? is anyone else having this problem? ...

I'm looking for a bluetooth headset with good sound and that blocks out noise when I talk on it. I've read in this forum that the Motorola H700 is great for the phone (the thread was from back in July), is that still true? Is the H700 the best headset for the sidekick?

I also want to know if anyone has personally used the Samsung WEP200 with the sidekick? Any comments from those with first-hand experience?

alright, so im thinking about getting the sidekick, but I have a few questions before I make my final decision. I have read and researched plenty but I still have a few unanswered questions, so if you know, help me out. thanks in advanced

1. one of the biggest turn offs so far is the screen resolution and size of the screen.
here are the specs phone scoop have on the sidekick 3
LCD (Color TFT/TFD)
Colors: 65,536 (16-bit)
Size: 240x160

and here is the phone screen specs on the t809 (the phone I have now)
LCD (Color TFT/TFD)
Colors: 262,144 (18-bit)
Size: 240x320

according to phonescoop the screen that I have is bigger than that of the sidekick and the resolution is much better as well.
