any way to make incoming texts vibrate when they're not on vibrate mode?

Just got this phone and like it so far.

When adding a phone number to the contact list, once the number is entered, all 10 numbers are bunched together. Is there anyway to enter a dash (or space) between area code, prefix and the last 4 digits of the number? ###-###-#### OR ### ### ####

The two features I wish the phone had are voice calling and an alert to show you have a message or voice mail while phone is closed.

in test option is an feture call flash led on/off . I tested and nothin happend as i concern the phone not have flashlite or camera flash some1 know whats that

olso in audio says (gpio) option when enter has the options:
SPKAMP : off/on
HPHAMP : off/on

SPKAMP = will be taht speaker amplifier
HPHAMP = will be that Headphones """"
some1 knows

I feel dumb, but I can't figure out how to change the display message from "Cingular" to something better.

Everyday I look reviews, opinions, specs and photos of these phones, but I am not sure at all which is better! Here are the things I like about these phones.

SYNC- 2 MP Camera; HSDPA; THIN

CU500- ROTATING CAMERA; APPEARANCE; 65K EXTERNAL

BLADE- LARGE INTERNAL SCREEN; SPRINT; CAMERA

LG VX8300- MP3; SMALL; CALL QUALITY

Obviously there are alot more, I am just stating the most common. Some of these phones have the exact same features, such as Camera, MP3 Keys etc.

Now what I am complaining about is the the SYNC has a HORRRIBLE external screen and it's probably the less impressive phone in terms of good looks and material unlike the rest. Its kinda plain lookin. The CU500 has no FLASH in it's camera, and it has only 65k colors ...

on my old phone, i could set a ringtone for calls and a different ringtone for text messages. i can't seem to find an option to do this on my LG CU500...

I want to upload one 25 second mp3 to my phone. It is a clip that I made personally to use as a ringtone. I rather not buy a cable for $40 or a micro sd card just to have this one mp3 on my phone. Is there any way to do this???? I know that with verizon, I was able to email a mp3 to my phone. Can this or something else like this be done with cingular. Your help is appreciated VERY much.

Does this phone have a vibrate feature? If not, is there any way to program it to vibrate. Also, I am looking for a new phone for cingular. I want one with an mp3 player, bluetooth, camera etc...any suggestions for now? or should I wait for some newer phones to come out?

Just in case some have not seen the information on the Cingular's LG user forum, there is free software from LG that allows syncing of the phone with Outlook Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, and Notes. For those who can use Exchange with ActiveSync, you can also sync e-mail over the Internet using a Java program (free trial, but not free after the first month).

Has anyone tried using a 2 gig micro card and does it give you the full 2 gigs? Or is this not possible with this phone? I want to store my TV shows for viewing on the train.

We just got my girlfriend a new CU500 and I wanted to see how we can connect to my 2WIRE wireless modem at my house with her phone. I have the Cingular 8125 phone and it's pretty easy to do.. but can't figure out how to do it with hers.

We want to download free ringtones, graphics and songs.

Another question, do we have to have the microSD card in the phone before we can download songs?

I am guessing we can get the microSD card and move songs from the computer to the card, then put the card in the phone like I do with my 8125?

So I bought an adapter for my headphones from Radio Shack, and for some reason, the sound is only coming out of the right side of the headphones. If I buy the ones from the Cingular website (stereo headphones/usb cable duo) will they work like a stereo headset?

Just a few quick question? How do u make u ringtone ring normal and not start so low? Can I remo0ve the confirmation message?

When I brought the phone home from the store, the first time I dialed a number, the computer voice said the number. Then, after setting my ringtones, and other defaults I liked, I no longer have the voice saying the numbers. Does anyone know how to get these tones back? The manual for this phone really stinks! It doesn't tell really how to do anything.

Also, how do you set a recorded voice as a ringtone?

Just bought this phone, and am a novice to ringtones. Is there a way to create my own ringtone and save it to this phone? If so, is it as simple as creating an MP3 file and saving?? Thanks.

I just got this phone. First off, what do you guys think of it? I have the option to take it back. Secondly, have you guys had any problems with a Kensington 1GB card not registering??

I am new to the CU500 and one thing that I have noticed but have not seen many threads or discussions on is that I frequently get an Out of Memory error when browsing websites (even something such as CNN.COM). I have a 1g MicroSD in route but would not expect that to fix this .. would it? I am not even sure what type of memory it is saying that it is out of.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Please does anyone know how to get rid of the ascending ring i cant find it anywhere. If not how do u lenghten the ringer time. I think this ringer time is good if you could hear it when it first starts ringing Thanks PS I love this phone

i'm going to get a memory card and can't decide which one to get. i don't want to get the 512 and end up wishing i had gotten the 1g. the 512 is $50 and the 1g is $80. i'd rather spend $80 now than ultimately $130.
