HTC 3125 / Smartflip / 8500 (Star Trek)

is it possible for me to unlock to phone to use with t-mo? 😁

OK this is really bothering me more all the time. I have had my same number for years and now ever since I purchased the 3125 I am getting bombarded with wrong number calls. I called Cingular and they have no clue as to what it could be and just want to change my number but that is a hassle for me.
No one is making calls from my number but me as I have checked my call logs. But man I am getting 10-15 wrong numbers a day and at all hours. Most of the callers are not of the brainiac mindset either.

I asked Cingular if it could be a network issue or sim card issue but all I get from them is basically we will just change your number.

The one review (so far) says this phone uses different accessories than other HTC phones. I understand it uses a different memory card -- does anyone know if it uses the same mini-usb jack for charging/sync'ing?

I read somewhere recently that smartphones cannot run java (except blackjacks)... is this true? Does this mean any java apps/websites/games cannot be run on the 3125?

I'm not a Cingular customer so I don't have their 3125. I'm making this post both to caution others as well as to see if anyone else has had the problems I am having.

I purchased a Qtek 8500 on eBay from a well-regarded seller. Initially I was very pleased with the Win Mob software performance (I have had many other WinCE devices over the years and am very familiar with the software).

But after I while I realized the the phone function was poor (and after all, it doesn't matter too much how great the device is otherwise if the *phone* part doesn't work well!). I'd experience many times when my phone wouldn't ring even though I was in a good coverage area, voice mail indicator would often be slow to come on, things like that. So, ...

Hello everyone! I don't own this phone...in fact I'm not even a Cingular subscriber. But, I'm really intrigued with this phone...almost enough to entertain leaving my current carrier to get it! I was reading a review where an owner of this phone commented that the blue and green flashes from this phone were so bright, he has to put the phone away in his nightstand to keep from being distracted by it at night. So, my question is: what are the blue & green light flashes for? Does it do this when charging? Or, is that the phones response when a message/email/call comes in? Or....?

Hi. I just recieved a replacement 3125 cause the other one broke. I want to know if there is a way to save the text messages inbox to my storage card so that I can transfer them to the new phone. I cannot find an "easy" way to do it, but I am hoping someone knows where the file is located on the system so that I can transfer that.

Any suggestions? There's a bit of urgency here since I need to send back the old phone...

I've bonded the phone to my stereo headphones, but i can get windows meadia player to play thru the headphones. anybody know how to get it to work?

I can use it w/ Infrared, but not Bluetooth. Does it not support Bluetooth OBEX?

Will the Smartflip (when on Cingular soon?!?!?) work with Slingbox.

Slingbox is a service that broadcasts live TV from your home cable/satellite service over the internet to be viewed on any computer with a high-speed internet connection. It was recently released for Windows Mobile 5 as well, working over either 3G or EDGE networks.

I am pretty sure the software on the Smartflip will support the Slingbox Player, but will the CPU in the phone be able to handle playback video at any reasonable frame rate?

I am now on my third RaZR(in 3 1/2 months) and I am done with the crap. With full bars on my reception, I still have people telling me that there is too much static and it sounds like I am in a tunnel. I am calling Cingular tomorrow to have them replace with a different phone. I was looking at the LG CU500, but I sort of like the looks and sound of this phone.

Is the 3125 a good phone? Anyone having trouble with noise or reception? I need a phone with a good phone book, and reliable useability. I hated the phone book on the Razr. You would have 4 entries just to have 4 numbers for 1 person. DUMB!!


Please help. I don't want to get another crap phone. I just want one that works.
