LG Fusic / LX-550

I could swear that when I first got this phone I had better reception than I do now. I get so many dropped calls - I even called customer service to ask if there was any update they could do (I used to get software updates wirelessly when I was with nextel).

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hey my girlfriend just got this phone and I have 2 questions. She wants to use the mp3 ring tones that I make as her ring tones. Is that possible? Is it as simple as dragging them onto the memory card in a special folder? Also she said everytime she goes to send a text she has to manually put it in the T9 mode. Is there a way to make T9 the permanent method and can you easily cycle between T9?

Does anyone know if the Fusic has those dumb buttons that LG was putting on their flip phones a while ago? It used to be that if you put an LG phone in your pocket the side buttons would switch it from silent to vibrate to lound and stuff with out you knowing.

Did they ever fix that mess?

What's the best bluetooth headset to use with this phone? And has anyone had any trouble with music quality when using a bluetooth headset? Thanks in advance.
I am so loving this phone and my son thinks it's cool that it plays the music over the car radio.

OK i cant change the faceplate on my phone and im scared to break it. The top comes off but the rest is stuck to the phone. If someone knows how to do it the right way please let me know. Thanks. 😢

Considering I haven't found it anywhere in the menus I'm assuming not, but has anyone found a way to deactivate the front buttons? I have an MP3 player, so I don't particularly care about them, but they're causing serious problems.

Since the official (or unofficial) LX550 holsters haven't hit the market yet, and I was desperate to get my phone out of my junk-filled pocket and onto my belt I purchased a universal belt case for it. Works great, but it rubs against the touch-sensitive front panel buttons, and that's a problem. I've been using my bluetooth headset with the phone, and if I walk around while giving it commands, the front buttons get activated and shut off or reset the voice control function. I currently have Cingular, but would love to get the Fusic unlocked. Would my Cingular sim card fit into this phone? Will it fit into other phones offered by other carriers? Thanks!!

I find that during a phone call using the speakerphone, the person's voice vibrates the speaker as if it was blown? Not talking about music. Can anyone else confirm the Fusic Speakerphone is severely distorted during conversational use. Tomorrow is the last day I have to return the phone for a refund. Thanks so much.

While text messaging using the T9, when I go to add an apostraphe s to a word it randomly inserts phone numbers or names from my phone book. Does anyone know how to stop this or have this same problem?

For example, I will type "he's" and it will turn into "he7039684440". I can't get it to stop or change. It's SO IRRITATING.

Also, the manual says that I should be able to turn on the FM transmitter during playback just by going to options. Is that options in the song screen? I do not have a transmitter option on this screen.

i currently own an a900 and love the phone but the bt quality is horrible in terms of static and how far you can get from device. before moving to the fusic though what is everyones opinion and also which headsets have you used and how well have they worked thanks a bunch!

I bought a Fusic for my daughter when they first came out. In general, she has been very happy with it except for weirdness about repeating message alerts.

Yesterday, I bought a second phone for my son. The software on the new phone is visibly much newer and seems much more polished. I'm mentioning it here because early Fusic owners may want to see if they can get their phones flashed with the new software.

The phone I just got says:

I probably won't get to the sprint store for a couple weeks, so if anyone has success (or failure) getting their phone's software updated, I'd like to hear about it.

I have a Sanyo MM-8300 right now and I am just getting a little bored with the phone. I've been looking around, and I kind of like the Katana and the Fusic.

Obviously, feature-wise, the Fusic is a lot better and gives more, but it would also cost me about $50 more and I also prefer the Katana look.

I've read a lot of stuff about the phone, and it seems that people that are really high tech and want the uber high speed internet, uber good camera, etc. dislike the Katana. I'm really not too worried about the high speed... The VGA camera is probably good enough for me.

What do you think? And keep in mine that it's $50 less and looks a lot better.

Any mac users out there that can tell me how to get my music onto my phone?

When I first bought my phone a month ago I read the advice here and installed the Sprint connection manager software. That first day I was able to load my phone with music and everything worked fine. Now for whatever reason it has stopped working. The computer recognizes there's something plugged in (it makes the little noise) but My Computer no longer generates a new drive to explore.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Sprint drivers as well as rebooting but nothing does the trick. Has this happened to anyone else?

I tried to sign up for the NFL network stuff but got a text back saying my device is not capable (sp) and won't work with the NFL stuff. ANyone else have this issue?

Help! I keep getting invalid file after I upload music from my pc (i use itunes, is this why?). What could be causeing this? Very frustrated, I got the fusic for this feat.

I currently have a PM-225 from LG and it can only receive text when roaming. My gf has the Samsung a900 Blade and can only send messages when roaming. Does this phone both SEND and RECEIVE messages when in roaming? Thanks.

How do you access the service menu on the Fusic? The Service Menu on most LG phones @ Verizon can be accessed by pressing the Menu button (usually the Ok button), then entering seven zeroes (0000000). On Verizon LG EVDO phones like the LG VX8300, the data network selection can be found in the Service Menu - Hybrid, 1XRTT only, etc.

So, how is the Service menu accessed in the LG LX-550?
