UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

when I first got my 6700 I noticed that when I tried to use the flash (or what they call a flash... light seems more apropriate) it would leave a bright spot on the pic. at first I just thought that was the best it got. its not! I went back to sprint and compared it to a new one and sure enough I have a defective phone. if yours does this let us know. I haven't yet traded it in but I surely will. I'll let you know what sprint has to say about it. anyway, just an FYI.

Hey, i just got this phone. How can I get it to sync with my mac? Also, my screen did something wierd today, it went all fuzzy and never cleared up until I did a soft reset.

When I press the IE hotket it brings me to file://\windows\default.htm! It will not bring me to the homepage that I have set (google).

Ive gone in to file explorer and located this default.htm but cannot delete it.

Any suggestions?

well, after buying the voice recognition i found out that the voice volume even when set to max is so low that you cant hear it, speaker volume is very low too, any ideas?

I am wondering if anyone can tell me if you can tell a difference in the screens of this phone and the Treo 650? I know that the difference is not much but just want to get opinions.

The rumor mill for Jan 5th launch of the XV6700 through Verizon is now starting to seem all to real and accurate. If you think about it, Verizon usually launches phones on Mondays and Tuesdays. I dont think I ever seen a Thursday launch. But coincidentally, The CES 2006 Show in vegas officially starts Thursday Jan 5th. The CES show is the worlds largest Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held every January in Vegas. Usually about 200,000 attendants.

What a better way for Verizon to showcase something new there, than to have a nice PPC phone with WinMobile5.

I have had a Pocket PC since 2002. There has always been an option for backup/restore in the ActiveSync program but I don't see it in 4.1. Does anyone else know anything about this?

There has been a thread on this subject already, but I (like a lot of you) am still wondering how long I should wait for this phone to come out through Verizon. If anyone knows anything, I'm patiently waiting! Thanks in advance!

Is there a way that you are able to remove lets see, I'll go through the list, Text Messages Retry, Anything MSN, Software Store, GetGood, Audible.... Is this posssible, and anything else I didnt think of. What can I do to do it, I tried to do it through the syncing and going through the files but they dont show up so I cant do it, and if I can then I can't take it off of the main menu for programs, which is what I really want them off for, so I have less stuff on there, to get to things faster.... I love the phone again, it is the most amazing phone I've had, and I have had the Treo 650, 600, Sanyo 5600, Sanyo 7400, and a couple stupid tmobile phones, sidekick, blackberry 7290, razr, audiovox 5600... So yeah... AMAAZING PHONE!! I just wnat ...

Can anyone suggest a good compatible bluetooth headset. I have the treo headest that I used with my treo, doesn't seem to work. Phone recognizes it and shows pic of headset on phone when active, but doesn't seem to work properly.

I just purchased my PPC 6700 yesterday and it will be here next week. Any help on what I should expect, things I should do first, how to save battery life, what accessories are out like car charger, and anything like secrets or things I should know when using it will be greatly appreciated. i was playing around with one of these phones that my friend has but it wouldn't show a lot of sites or wouldn't show flash buttons on some site. can anyone tell me the limitations of the Internet Explorer Mobile. Id like to know what top expect before i buy one of these phones.

hi everyone, i am a new user, i love the way you guys help each other, i just purchased the phone & need some help, i make a lot of international calls, i bought time through a co that gave me an exceess code , how do i set up my phone to dial the excess code first than the # i am calling, also i upgraded from treo 650 ,so how do i transfer all my contacts to this phone instead of doing it manualy? thanks for your help.
