700w UI on XV6700?

Is it possible to hack the UI on the XV6700 to copy the same UI on the 700w.

I love the 700w UI but hate the small keyboard and small screen.

In contrast the keyboard on the XV6700 is great witht the large screen.

What is your view on this?

Extra OEM Desktop Cradle for PPC 6700

Hello I am thinking about purchasing an extra desktop cradle but I am having a hard time getting Sprint to sell me one. But I did find this one on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5 ... »

Has anybody had any luck with ordering an extra desktop cradle from Sprint?

Thanks!

Looking to buy this phone. Need feedback on wifi and pda functions

I am looking for a new phone and this one seems to have all the features I want. It will be used extensively as a pda and with the wifi to check suppliers from the sales floor.

How easily and quickly can it connect to the net using wifi?
No voice dialing through bluetooth? Did I read that there is a voice recognition program to help here?
Can you purchasse larger capacity batteries for this phone yet?

I like the idea of everything in one package and having it always with you. Of course the down side is that if it fails you lose everything. I owuld like to hear of any experiences good or badthat you have had or any other phones you like better for this type of use.
Thanks for providing feedback on this unit.

3-way calling

hello all,

has anyone been able to make a 3-way call using the ppc-6700? i was on the phone the other night and got a call and tried conferencing everyone in. there were no obvious choices like "flash" & "3-way calling", so i accidentally ended up hanging up on one of the callers. the manual wasn't much help, so if someone has successfully accomplished a 3-way call, please share the steps you used.

thanx!

potential buyer....3 questions

I'm soooo close to buying this device, but have a few questions yet.

I use Groupwise at work. Not Outlook. Will I need to purchase a pocket version of Groupwise or can I "connect" Outlook to Groupwise somehow to make it work?

Does the device have VPN capability?

Any news on when Sprint's EVDO network will be available in SC?

Thanks for the help!

Just ordered my XV6700 on Verizon!

I was quite surprised myself since I knew it wasn't coming out until tomorrow to biz customers(which I am).

It will be here by 3pm tomorrow via overnight delivery!

RINGTONES FOR THE APACHE 6700??

I am about to switch from the PPC-6600 to this new 6700 version. I didn't like that you aren't able to assign different ringtones to different callers so you can HEAR who's calling and don't have to look at the phone every time it rings. Will I be able to assign different ringtones to different callers on this new 6700?

Manual dialing trouble?

I tried out the PPC 6700 in a Sprint store and found the manual dialing (hitting the numbers on the touch screen) to be quite unreliable. I had to move deliberately and not too fast or digits got dropped. Is it my fat fingers or the demo unit or the inevitable consequences of a touch screen?

I ask because Verizon is supposed to have this phone in a week or two, but will also soon have a Treo 700w and a Motorola Q, all of which will run Windows Mobile 5.0. The Q has no WiFi and the Treo will have it only through an SDIO card, while the 6700 has it built-in. The 6700 also has a bigger screen. However, if I can't reliably dial (yes, I do intend to get Voice Command, but still...) then I need to move on to the 700 or the Q.

Two different phones

I just read that they relased two different ppc-6700 one with the old sprint logo one with bugs and flaws and the other with the new sprint logo being the updated one. Does anyone know if this is true?

Why doesn’t all Windows Mobile 5.0 device offer voice recognition?

After looking at an array of devices that run on Windows 5.0 I have notice some of them offer voice recognition. Is this just a feature carrier’s leave out of the spec list or is just not offered. The Majority of the older Pocket PC 2003 edition devices offer voice recognition, what’s up Microsoft. What is you opinion on this I would like to hear from you. Later
