Where did it go?

I have been waiting for the 2125 to be in the stores after Christmas. When I went to the Cingular website... it's gone. What gives? Anyone got a clue?

E-mail Configuration - Cingular 2125

I’d appreciate some assistance in configuring my Cingular 2125 to send and receive emails. I've spent hours with Cingular’s tech support and they cannot get my phone to work. My ISP is Verizon (Custom Server). I’ve verified with Verzion that all of my setup data is correct: incoming server address, user name, and password. I’ve tried both Verizon’s and Cingular’s Outgoing Server address. Yet, whenever I try to Send/Receive the phone acknowledges connecting and then attempts to logon, but a screen pops up requesting my email Password. When I input that information, it just goes through the cycle again, ending up with a request to input my password. Any ideas on how to set up the phone to send/receive emails? Thanks.

Voice recognition: speaker dependent or speaker independent?

Hi was wondering if this phone is like my Moto mpx 220 in that it will recognize spoken words, and I don't have to 'train' the phone to certain recorded names, etc.

Thanks everyone.

Paul K.

There are two types: speaker-dependent (recorded) and speaker-independent (recognition).

EDGE vs WI-FI? What's the difference?

I'm perhaps interested in this phone. I like the form factor and large display, along with some other features. I know it doesn't have Wi-Fi, but it does have EDGE. Can someone explain the difference?

If I understand correctly, if a phone has Wi-Fi, I can check email or surf anywhere there is an available connection, e.g., hotels, coffeeshops, etc. How about EDGE? Do I have to subscribe to my provider's network (mine is Cingular) at additional cost to email or surf?

I know this is a basic question, but please don't flame too much. Thanks.

manufacturer/owner's manual

Who manufactures this phone? It seems to be the new and improved Audiovox, but this one is not listed in their website. I checked out the HTC site and it was not on that site either. I also "googled" Faraday, etc. I still don't come up with usable info. I generally will download the manual before I make a purchase. I cannot find the manual on the web. It concerns me that I may not get any company support.

I went ready to buy the Audiovox after spending 5 days trying to get out of my Sprint contract and they are sold out. Do I really want the 2125?

ActiveSync via Blueooth Help!

I just got my 2125 and really do like it. I'm have a difficult time getting my ActiveSync to work with my Bluetoth adapter on my desktop computer at home.

I have AS 4.1, but for some reason this phone will only let me choose COM ports 6 or 7 for my bluetooth serial connection and my computer won't let me choose other of those two COM ports. If anybody knows what I'm talking about please help!

Feel free to email me at osusnake@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Is Cingular right?

On the Cingular website, they say you can access Hotmail. Does that mean you can get it through the mobile Outlook program? Or, just open the Hotmail website and view your mail?

If you can get through Outlook, I will be 😁

Accessories?

I've had this phone for a few days now (and love it), but I'm having trouble finding accessories? Does anyone know where to find them? Do the SMT5600 accessories work with this phone?
Thanks in advance!

Power button problem anyone?

I got the 2125 from Cingular online, but the power button was so difficult to actuate that I returned the phone. I suspect it was a manufacturing defect. Has anybody else had this problem? When you press the button does it respond like any other button or do you have to fiddle with it or press extra hard?

Also, anybody get this at the store or is it only online? Dealing with the online store when you have a problem is voice response hell. I am getting my replacement at retail.

Cingular 2125 in stores?

Anybody seen this phone in stores or know when it gets there? It is available online, but dealing with that operation is a bit like a root canal if you have a problem...

FYI, I am in the Boston area.
