HTC 2125 / 2100 (Faraday)

I am contemplating getting this phone and as far internet is concerned, would be using it mostly for checking my corporate email accounts and maybe occasional directions. Considering such expected usage, can someone please advise whether I should select MediaNet Unlimited or Smartphone Add-on as my internet option for the device, as they both appear to be identical (at least to me). Thank you.

Does anyone know if it is possible (software-wise) to use the mini-USB port on the 2125 to connect to a USB_to_Wi-Fi "dongle" adapter, please?

About once a day, my 2125 freezes (requiring remove battery reboot). On more than 50% of these occasions, the storage card is not recognized, so I repeat until it finds the card. This is independent of whether connected to/syncing with computer.

I'm running these programs: Virtual Earth Mobile, PocketBible, Mobipocket, Resco System Toys, and Tweaks2K2. I've left all IE and Outlook data in main storage. I don't sync Outlook email, but I do periodic connection and download of IMAP email.

Anyone have similar problems that they've solved?

A little under two months ago I needed to have my Audiovox 5600 replaced by Cingular under the 1 year warranty. They said they no longer carry the 5600 and would have to give me the 2125 (wasn't complaining after hearing that news!). Sadly I received the 5600 in the mail and figured they still had a few leftover. Does anyone have any clue how much longer they'll have the 5600 in stock??? I know I'd be cheating the system by faking a problem but the reception in my area is HORRIBLE and I would rather not pay for the 2125 which has better reception to my knowledge.

I figure the 5600 has been discontinued for about 4 months now...how much longer must I wait for this phone??? Any insider knowledge would be very helpful, thanks.

Having previously owned an MPX220, I've noticed that the sound quality of the 2125, when playing mp3s in Windows Media through the headphones, doesn't quite have the full range of sound that the MPX220 had. Is there an equalizer, or a way to adjust the sound? It really seems that it's just the bass. Has anybody noticed this, or know a way to adjust the bass? Thanks.

I'm considering getting this phone, but have read a review that says the T9 is very cumbersome. Can somebody who has owned an MPX220, give me a quick comparison for this feature. I tend to think that the T9 on the MPX220 is very easy to use.

Has anyone had an instance where an incoming call will ring, you hit answer but it freezes for a second, then the call drops to voicemail? Or even an instance where the call goes to voicemail after ringing for about 3 seconds?

What is the best price/deal available on this
phone and from where? Is a cingular store
my best bet? Is the $100 rebate from cingular
applicable to media.net unlimited?

Earbuds will not stay in my ear. Can anyone suggest a headset/headphone solution?

Phone finally arrived. First impression: LOVE IT. So much better than my hunk-o-junk Treo. I barely miss the qwerty at all!

So, I downloaded a ringtone and was quite excited to use it. However, I can't figure out HOW to use it ☹️ I downloaded it. I played it. I can see it in a folder. However, when I go to "Sounds", it isn't listed as an optional ringtone. Can someone assisted li'l ol' me with this task?

Secondly, do I use MS ActiveSync to get mp3s onto my 2125? Or can I only get them onto the phone via downloaded them directly from the internet?

Does this phone update its time automatically when changing time zones?

I love the feature on this phone that downloads your email on intervals automatically. The problem is that it is pulling my emails off of my server and so my Outlook at home is not receiving them as well. With outlook, there is a setting that lets you leave emails on the server for a certain number of days. I can't find this setting on my 2125.

Any ideas?

How is the quality? Is it clear on the phone? Can people on the other end hear clearly? Is it easy to turn it on or off while on a call?

Currently using Treo 650 and while I like the interface, the quality is terrible.

Cingular doesn't mention speakerphone as a feature.

I was told that I could not use my RAZR car or wall charger for the 2125 - something about the pins in the mini-USB plug. I would rather not pay $30 for the Cingular car charger, is there any other car charger that will work with this phone?

I just bought the Moto h700 earbud as an upgrade to my original HS810 (?). While I like it, in general, I seem to be having problems with it. Pairing was successul. When not in a call, opening and closing the boom links it to the phone without issue. The problem is that I can't get it to link to the phone when I'm in a call already. This worked fine with the HS810 (removed from the list of BT devices in favor of the new h700). In fact, if I try to link to the phone when a call is in-progress, I have to reboot the phone to get the earbud to link at all, even when the call is over.

Anyone else have this problem, or could it be a defective bud?

Anyone know anything about a possible upgrade to this phone to allow the stereo over BT profile so that we can start listening to audio over stereo BT headsets?

In the meantime, how about a (specific) pointer to a suitable adapter to be able to plug standard 3.5mm headphones into this phone's 2.5mm headset jack?

Any one heard of a problem with the Sim card going bad. The phone will work for a while then just goes to searching and will not receive or place calls. I have had two new sims and a new phone as well.

I'm looking for games for the 2125, I've had no luck just searching the internet on the phone or on my PC for that matter. Anybody know a few good links for downloadable games that will run on this phone?? I'm gettin' tired of solitaire and bubble burst. Thanks.
