Just ordered my new Sony Ericsson w600i, and cingular is telling me that only a charger and battery are included, but I'm reading on the Sony Ericsson, and cingular websites that software, extra faceplate, and headphones are included. Does anyone know for sure whats included. I would like to be able to hook it up to the PC and load my music as soon as it comes in the mail.
I went into a Cingular store yesterday and asked about the phone. The rep showed me a non working demo but couldn't tell me an exact date it would be available. He said to check back in a few weeks. He had actualy won this phone in a contest but hasn't received it yet either.
I got to handle the phone though. It seems a little bulky at first but it's not any thicker than most other phones.
Cool looking although I think I'd opt for another color. Wish it was working so I could have tried out the menu and features.
Can you have your own custom tone for when u slide the phone open? are is there a way to do it even if they don't allow it. I think thats a ince feature but if you can't put your own song to it, it kinda of mess's it up. I love sony ericsson software they just need to allow you to lock applications and have your own message tone.
i understand this phone only has 256mb of memory but whats the best way to put music on the phone in the aac format? I want to fit as many aac formatted songs as i can. This phone doesnt work with i-tunes so what other way is there to put aac format on the phone?
I'm currently thinking of picking up this phone, but I use a Mac and am concerned that I may not be able to use the phone's full functionality. The software that comes with the W600i is PC only, so I'm curious as to how I would download my music from my iMac to the phone. Same goes for my contacts/address book. I called Sony Ericsson Customer Service, and they were no help. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
On a side note, I'm currently a Verizon customer, but I truly hate their selection of phones, as well as their local customer service here in Portland. My work offers us discounts to use Cingular, but I've always heard horror stories about their coverage, sound quality, and customer service. Cingular does ha... (continues)
I heard this phone could basically hold 50-80 songs.(im guessing in mp3 format) Wouldnt it hold alot more if u transfer the songs to aac format? Or is this just wishful thinking? Can someone clear this up for me?
Hey Everyone. Phonescoop is saying that this phone can only record about a minute of video recording. Is this true? Usually, sony ericsson phones can record until the memory is full. Is this just a phonescoop error, or is it really only 1 minute? Thanks!
Is there anyway to buy this phone without a contract? I have an s710a and might want to upgrade. But my only problem is there is no memory card, that sux. I really like the w800, but since there is no 850 band, i guess i'll get what i can. Thanx in advance! 😛
Just to let you know, I did a LOT of debating on which phone...the ROKR, the 550i and the 800i. True is in not quite as loaded as the 800, the 550 i bought is amazing. It has a mpeg viewer, but limited to the 256 shared onboard memory. Given with my phone new, it still had 232 free, so you can load some short clips on it. The three speakers are designed to recreate a surround sound, and it does make the sound a little fuller. I mean coming from something smaller than a deck of cards what can you expect. All in all, I am happy with my decision, but only wish they would have included a mem stick slot or at least upped it to 512 of internal.
