Voice Message Waiting Indicator

Yo ho ho,

I am curious if the 7130 has a real phone-like voice message indicator. I have a 7250 and the voice message waiting indicator doesn't work. It times out, or stops when I read messages. Sometimes I don't even know I have a message waiting until the next day. Sometimes it flashes as soon as someone leaves a voicemail.

This is the worst oversite in the world of cell phones, especially for a business phone. I am looking for a blackberry that keeps flashing until I actually check my voice messages. This is basic stuff that was in cell phones 7 years ago.

Go ahead, make my day and tell me this phone has a real cell phone too.

Out of Stock

Getting word from Verizon insiders that the 7130 is out of stock at national distribution center(s) - (the website has said this for some time) - and that no shipments expected from RIM until mid-January.

Bummer for those of us with them on order!

New to BB from Palm O/S - Need help

First, let me say that I love the phone. I was using the Kyocera 7135 previously, and this is phone is way better than that one. Looks good, feels good in my hand, and I can't believe how clear the color screen is. Unbelievably fast when I'm on the internet. Love the EVDO.

I can live without the mp3 and the camera. However, I do miss the ability to download and store .doc and .xls files. I tried the eOffice from Dynoplex, but couldn't seem to get it to work properly. Can anyone offer another work-around for this situation?

Thanks.

Hard reset

Will a hard reset on the 7130e result in all data (phone logs, contacts, etc.) being lost?

EVDO & modem tethering

Please pardon my ignorance, but can someone please explain these things to me. I just got the 7130 and love it. The sales person at Verizon told me that EVDO is kind of like a high speed Internet access for the wireless phone. I've been reading that it allows for modem tethering. The documentation from RIM is minimal. I want to get the most out of this phone and really want to understand the features. Thanks.

Roaming Indicator

I have had my 7130 for a couple of days now and so far I really like it. I have me service with Verizon. So far the only issue I am having is with the roaming indicator. It is always on. Verizon says they are nto sure what to do and suggest that I live with it or return the phone. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone else have a possible solution?

Thanks in advance!

How to not show 'voice' history in BB message view

I'm new to the BB platform, so I'm sure this is a straight-forward setting, but how do you NOT show voice history (placed calls, received calls, missed calls) in the Messages/Inbox view? I'm interested in only showing Email and SMS in this view. Thanks in advance.

The other 7000 series phones are compatible (from Sprint & Cingular), but I have struggled to find a smartphone from Verizon that will work. Anyone know?

A few questions......

Hi,
I have been on PhoneScoop for quite awhile now, but just recently started considering getting a Blackberry and although I feel like I'm pretty knowledgeable about cell phones, I don't really know too much about the Blackberry to be honest. What I would like to know is....

1. What all can I do with it?

2. What are the advantages of having it over a regular cell phone?

3. What is the full retail price?

If anyone has any info for me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.
