Making Mp4 video ringtones...

Last night, with the help of postings on sprintusers.com, I figured out how to make and upload my own ringtones to my new a940 without touching the internet. I thought I'd share with everyone...

You'll need:
1) the a940 phone,
2) a Transflash/microSD card & SD adapter,
3) an SD card reader on your computer,
4) Mp3 Direct Cut editing software (or equivalent),
5) 3GP_Converter software (or equivalent),
6) lots of patience.

Steps:
1) Download & install Mp3DirectCut from here:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio- ... »

2) Open Mp3DirectCut and load your mp3 song that you want to make into a ringtone. clip out whatever parts you don't want and edit it down to about 30-45 seconds. I...

Video ringer

Ok! I've had this phone for...eh, a little over 2 months and i LOVE it to itty bitty microscopic pieces! i've TOTALLY personalized it and it pretty much lets me do everything i want to do--here's my problem, i found out that i can have a video i captured with my phone as a screen saver (very cool), but when i went to set the video's i captured with my phone as ringers the SOUND from the videos is the ringer sound and ...*lol* most of the sound in the background is me laughing at my friends because they're acting silly because they knew i was recording these clips to be video ringers--THE QUESTION!!! is, does anyone know of a way i can set an mp3 as the ringer, while the video is ...the video that pops up when they call?? I thought it'd be as...

Speakerphone - does it work with 2 buttons or one?

Does the speakerphone work with a direct speakerphone button??? Or do you have to select talk and then after connected, select the speakerphone button (usually a soft button- on screen, if it's that way).

Does anyone know if a bar style phone with the same features of this phone is on the horizon???
I perfer a bar style over the clamp style

Is this the phone that allows you to take a picture of a business card and the software will input it to your caller/address list??? I saw that feature on some phone, but I can't remember which one.

Does the bluetooth feature allow you to hear music through a wireless (bluetooth of courser) headset??? The new Ipod Motorola phone on Cingular doesn't - which doesn't make sense to me.

Lastly...

What about the camcorder?

Everyone is fussing about the 2.0 mega-pixel camera. What about the camcorder? Anybody tested it on extended recordings? or playback on a large PC screen or TV? Thinking about purchasing, any help in this area would be great...or any other recommendations?

Video???

Alright, so I know there has to be some sort of way to load video onto the phone and have it play in the media player. I still don't know what format it is in. If anyone has figured it out, and knows how to convert videos to that format to load, please help me out.

USB Cable Link

I plugged the USB cord into the phone and then into my computer... and it said it could not install the software, and to check to see if there's a CD or whatever, which there wasn't.

How do I access this? I don't have a card reader on my computer, so the transflash adapter is pretty useless for now... but also so is the USB cord. I'd like to know how it works! The woman at Sprint help didn't really seem to know what she was talking about.

Had phone 2 hours...not happy so far!!!!!!

Things that just disappoint me.

1. The reception during calls is piss poor (quite and scratchy)

2. Why do they include a USB cable..when it does not transfer pics/music?????

3. This is suppose to have a 2 megapix. camera?? Looks more like VGA quality to me!
(any suggestions here would be nice)

4. Camera does not work when phone is closed.

5. Swivel screen is kind of neat..but doesn't feel stable when talking on phone.

6. God only knows how the bluetooth works.

I've seen some pretty good pics from this phone..but my phone just isn't pulling them. If someone would post up what settings they used for the best possible pics, that would be great.

900 Vs. 940

I was interested in purchasing a new phone, price not an issue. I wanted to know which phone would be more worth buying. the 9000 very small and love the colors but unsure of battery life because if am not always near a charger and i will be using a blue-tooth headset. I don't know if i should buy the 940 because i am still going to use the blue-tooth headset and watch TV? but? does the 900 have the same feature as far as being able to watch NFL games live? and if anyone knows a store were they have it really cheap please let me know.
