Motorola L6

😲 I accidentally thought the outer layer of the battery was supposed to be peeled...I'm not used to that kind of battery. Anyway, I put in the phone anyway and I just started charging it. The screen is completely blank and won't do anything if I try to press any buttons. Is there supposed to be a screen on while it's charging for the first time or did I just completely ruin the battery...? 🤭

I purchased this phone off of Ebay. I'm kind of confused on how to activate it because with my former service at Sprint all I had to do was call them. Do I have to remove the SIM card and how do I do that because it has a metal thing holding it down in place...help would be awesome thanks!

I have this phone from UK to work for cingular (it's unlocked) does anybody know how to set up the PTT, the rep said that it will not be supported by cingular but I seen people use it?

I live in Bend, Oregon and moved over here from Medford, Oregon. There is no Cingular store here, but I purchased the L6 off of ebay last week and it says it doesnt work on Cingulars 850. Does this mean it won't work here?

Whats the best way to setup AIM on this phone (have service through Cingular)?

I was interested in this phone. I found it at saberpoint for $142.30 including shipping. They also throw in a car charger, case and a coupon for $10 off next purchase.
It seemed decent so I took the plunge. Review to follow up soon.

I was wondering if it will be taken off the line becuase I am deciding for this one if it will still be out in July or getting the Moto L2 because it iisn't out yet and will probably be on the line in July... AND if the L2 will be out in July???

Most Radio Shack stores should have this in stock today or tomorrow in what is suppose to be an exclusive launch until June. Don't know about the exclusive part, but my local Shack has them in stock now.

how could i use two different sims cards in one phone?????

I want to download some mp3s as ringtones and pictures from my computer. but when i plugged in the usb drive, my computer would not accept the new device. is there software i am missing?

1. How in the world do you turn the volume down while playing songs and watching video clips?

2. Is it possible to have no date on the screen or the name of my carrier?

Can't find this info any where and the instruction booklet sucks.

Apart from this I am happy with the phone.

I noticed that the FCC documentation for this phone was posted today (FCC ID = IHDT6FW1) and the documentation shows that it has a tri-band radio with only the 1900mhz freq activated (900 & 1800 disabled) Being it's a 1900-mhz only phone, that seems to indicate it's most likely headed to T-mobile only, at least in North America. I suppose another triband w/850mhz could be approved later for Cingular.

ok i have this phone in america... but i noticed that there are 2 version one with 900 band and one with the 850 band. mine is the 900 band and that is only in eruo/asia right? but i still get coverage whereever i go.... is the 850 band not very widely used... i just wounder if this may be a problem for me?

ok i loved this phone, but i just dumped a little pop on it the other day and dried it out with a blow dryer then let it sit for a few days... and still it turns on and i can dial 911 BUT IT WONT READ ANY SIM CARD it says "insert sim card" waht should i do, is this replaceable?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to keep the display from shutting down when the phone is not in use. With my old Nokias, the display just dims down to conserve battery, but does not shut off completely.

The Motorola manual noted to just turn off the "Display Timeout", which I did, but the screen still goes completely black just after a few seconds of non-use, and then a few seconds later, the screen-saver comes on, but also just for a few seconds and then the screen goes black again. It doesn't matter whether my keys are locked or unlocked. Anyone know how to change this option or is it just inherent to Motorola ...
