Few questions

I have the 8100 and am very happy with it, but always am looking at the latest and greatest. I am a littles curious about this phone. Some questions I have are:

Not to sound stupid, but what is wireless sync? From what I read, I wouldn't even need it if I use Yahoo for e-mail. Is that correct also?

I don't have VCAST in my area, but if I purchase the $15/mo. package, can I use e-mail 24/7 without incurring airtime charges? Does this also include text, or would I need to also purchase a text package?

What would be the additional things this phone would offer me that the 8100 doesn't?

Thanks for your time. Just wanted to try to gather as much info as possible to help me decide if I even want to venture into this.

Sincerely...

Maverick13

Maverick13 is a diplomat to all of you in the forum. Take notes from him on diplomacy and how to talk to people on a forum with such quotes as:

"Do you even know what the hell you are talking about?" 😈

"sorry to burst your bubble" 👿

"your wrong" 👿

O, and calling people "tiger"..most likely has "chief" "big guy" "GUY" and in his vocabulary as to talk down. Very effective. Highly recommend to make points and friends. 😲

You remind me of the "king of the nerds" in som many movies from the 80's. Anthony Michael Hall, but on a forum.

Thx for the amusement and your welcome 😎

VZW's Answer to the Sidekick

Guys, this is VZW's answer to the Sidekick/Moto a630. Think about this phone as a web/email/SMS device with some good PDA functionality for a minute....... Now, Sidekick competitor? What do you say?

Price???

I have heard that this phone will be out before the end of September, but the real question will be how much will it cost??? Will it be closer to what the 8100 came out at or will it be around the $500 level that people are saying that the Samsung 970 will be???

On Approved Device List!! Question

It is on the new approved device list on verizon's internal network (info center) but it lists it under the PDA device's list....This would imply it is either running palm or PPC....Anyone have input on this I dnot see it running the normal system becuase that would not be a PDA then...

Why put the d-pad on the right? What about games?

This kind of a design just screams "gaming." Does anyone else not see the resemblance to the latest handhelds from Nintendo? With the nice screen, stereo audio, miniSD storage, and high-speed data that this thing packs, it could be quite a gaming machine.

That said, why is the directional pad on the right? Put it on the left, and you have an instant and huge base of people that know exactly how to use a Game Boy and will be ready to play games on your machine.

It just seems like a waste to put the d-pad on the right like that.
