Sony Ericsson K750 / W800 / D750 / W700

Ok, I'm thinking about ordering this phone to replace my piece of crap motorola v600 and the mini digital camera I broke last week, but I wanted to ask some questions before I took the dive and blew $400.

When transferring MP3s to the phone can you just drag and drop on the memory stick or do you have to use some Sony proprietary software? If you do have to use software does it mess with your MP3s at all, like re-encode the files or add some sort of Sony copy protection, or does it just straight transfer?

Does anyone have any information on the shutter speed of the camera? I've read a lot of reviews and looked at a lot of pics but Im still worried that it's not going to be fast enough to capture candid shots. I figure Ill probably end ...

i was wondering hows the volume of the ring on this phone. i remmebr the t610 and t630 had a reall y soft ring, so soft u can barely hear it. i hope this ones loud, cuz im planning to get it.

Man the w800i looks PIMP. I wonder is anyone bought it. I have the k750i.

i have this phone and its great but i would like to buy a larger memory card, possibly 1GB.

i live in the UK and have searched the UK sites and found that 1GB DUO and PRO DUO cards are no cheaper than 70 english pounds but i have seen 1GB MMC cards for around half the price.

my first question is does this phone support MMC and my second is if not does anyone know of any sites i could get a 1GB PRO DUO shipped from for less than £70 when converted?

oh yeah and are there any other cards/sticks i could use with this phone?

😳 I wonder why this phone has dropped down from 500 all the way down to 375 on ebay??(in one month) Something sound's suspicious...I've read many complaints of slow menu's ..just like the s710a..when it first came out.. and the saddest part is that sony's s710a unlocked is the exact same price as the k750i unlocked...

I'm a SoCal resident and I'm thinking of getting this phone for use with T-Mobile. I have a question for anybody who has this combination...

Does the phone work with the web features? I mean, is there AIM functionality and can I access email and other such things if I subscribe to the T-Mobile Web thing? Also, is there a way to shop and download more wallpapers and ringtones if I get this phone?

I ask because I know this phone is not directly supported by T-Mobile.

Does anyone know of any video convertion sofyware for this phone?

Iv got videos on my pc in mpeg format but the phone wont play them as the need to be mpeg4 or 3GP watever that is 😕

Iv downloaded a demo of a program called mobile movie studio (sony ericsson) 1.2 which seemed ok although i had no picture and it only converted about 2 minutes.

just thought id ask if anyone knows of any freebies i could try before buying something?

So here's my question: I've read a lot of reviews on this phone and looked at a lot of different sites for feedback. It sounds like it has everything I could possibly want and I am very happy with the appearance. However, I am a little hesitant to spend the money to purchase this phone because of bad reports on reception. I live in Champaign, Illinois and I want to know if this phone would get good reception in this area. I could care less if it gets bad reception in other areas; I am only worried about my local reception. I realize that it isn't very likely that someone could answer this for me but any input would be helpful. Basically, is the reception so bad that it ruins the point of having a cell phone?

I am set on getting this phone it fits all my needs. I have a few questions. From what I read it is pro duo compatible unlike the s710a and that it should have no reception issues in the San Francisco, CA area. Can someone please confirm what I read was true before I waste 400 bucks. Thanks!

I was wondering where is a good site to buy the K750. I've searched around at a few websites(plemix.com, and myworldphone.com) but I've heard that a few people have had a few problems at those two( firmware issues mostly) anyone who has brought from these sites I would appreciate your help.

can someone please tell me if this phone is better than the s710a for video and audio playback? i read that the only headset source available for this phone is some dongle thing that has to be bought seperatly. what is this like and is it better/worse than the standard ear buds used in the 3.5mm headphones jack on the s710a?

also about the size of the screen.is there any point watching videos or viewing your 2mega pixel pictures on the small screen or isnt there much difference? i think if its not better than bareable then theres not much point in it.

just to cover the rest of my queries. is recording only limited by free memory?, can you place mp3's on txt alerts aswell as call ringers rather than just the 6 txt alert presets on the ...

This phone looks like it has it all !!! If this phone is released, where do you buy it? And what carrier will it work on. I hope it is cingular. It looks like the t637. But that doesn't always mean that they will carry the newer version of the same phone. You would think that the carriers would listen to what customers say on these forums. And sell and carry the higher end phones like this one.

can anyone give an idea of the volume they get at max from listening to the music player through the headset please? iv cashed out on expensive products in the past and been anoyed by the volume level and dont really want to pay the large fee for this phone to find the same.

Man, you would think if they would upgrade to a 2 MEGAPIXEL camera they would at least keep the qvga screen!!...why the 176x220 😳 ?? Its kinda disappointing. Thats like one of the biggest attractions on a phone for me 😕 . (s710a cough cough 😛 )

Does anyone have information regarding the level of ambient noise being picked up by the receiver? I've had problems with the previous SE candy bar models and a silent bedroom sounds like a I am in the middle of a rock concert!

Is there any real difference between these two phones. (aside from the 800 being the new "walkman" for sony) They have all the exact same features.

i want it..i know it doesnt have 850 band. but i live in los angeles so wont really effect me. anybody else going to get it?? 😁
