Nokia 6101 / 6102
Holster for 6102
I recently got my 6102 with Cingular from letstalk.com
I absolutely love this phone. Nokia got it right with this one. It is better than my old trusted Nokia 3390. I don't care too much for bluetooth or other fancy features. I can make and receive calls without any problems which is what I look for in a phone.
I am shopping for accessories for this phone and was considering getting this holster

do these holsters scratch the back of the phone. any inputs are greatly appreciated.

unlocked 6101 for cingular- no video messaging
i have a 6101, i bought from t-mobile. i unlocked it, then i got the configs setup for cingular, and i am happy - except for one feature. i can't receive video messages. i can send & receive text, picture and audio messages just fine. PROBLEM: i can't receive any videos. i've spent hours with cingular customer service, i've used the settings that you can have sent to your phone on nokiausa.com, and i have also called nokia, and they told me to ship my phone tothem to get fixed. anyone with an unlocked model have any answers, similar experience or suggestions?

Contrary to this site's spec sheet, this phone DOES NOT have an email client. It may be that Cingular removed it, but at any rate, it's not there. You can send email VIA MMS, but I nbeed to receive email. If anyone knows of a third party app that I can buy for this purpose please let me know.

Adding memory?
Is it possible to add a stick of memory to this phone? I know it comes with 4.4mb (I think it's .4) internal memory... but I was wondering if I could add more so I could put more mp3's and whatnot on it.

HELP!! Am i able to buy a 6101 Pre-Paid phone and then just put my SIM card in?
i'm with t-mobile and have been stuck with the samsung e315 ever since december 2004 and can't get an upgrade discount until february of 2006.
i really want the 6101 but if i were to get it now without the handset upgrade discount, i would be charged $229.99.... for the 6101!!
i was wondering if i could just purchase the 6101 t-mobile pre-paid phone ($129.99 at target) then just put in my own SIM card inside it... would it work????

Can Cingular transfer photos from old phone to new without sending them via phone MMS?
Can Cingular transfer photos from old phone to new without sending them via phone MMS? I know they can transfer address book, etc.

Nokia 6102 Freezing
Hey everyone, I just wanted to see if anyone has had their phone "freeze" on them, and have to remove the battery to reset the phone? Thanks.

Can the 6102 receive .gif images?
I tried to send a .gif file to the phone as a mms message via email. When the phone received it, it was listed as a .jpg file. Does the phone automatically convert the files for use...or am I doing something wrong? I wanted to use the .gif as a screensaver.
Shorten the DTMF?
I have the 6102 and saved my VM password in the phone for it to automatically send out. I've looked everywhere on the phone and in the manual to try and figure out how to shorten it. In the default setting it has the long tones...does anyone know where I can go in order to set the tones to short? Thank you!!
how do i turn it to silent mode?
in my previous phone (e315) and my other current phone SE Z520, i would just hold the # button and it would go to silent mode. it seems u can't do that with 6101.

How can I get rid of "Cingular" text on the main screen?
Does anyone know how to get rid of "Cingular" text logo on the main screen? It gets in the way of my wallpaper and it's really annoying. Please help! 😢

I use Audacity to make small Mp3s from the songs i like, and since the 6102 can supposadly play real tone music, I emailed my phone the file, i recieved it but on the phone it sounds so crappy. Does anyone know something that i can do? Thanks

6102 mp3 ringtone problem?

Just wondering... I just recieved my 6102 through letstalk.com, great site.. prompt service. Anyway, the phone says it supports mp3 ringtones, however when I edit an mp3, upload it to my ftp server and download it through the phone, even though the file is a .mp3 the phone retrieves it as a .EXT file... now, I can make that the default ringtone, but if i want to assign it to a group .EXT files do not show up in the list of ringtones to choose from... any ideas on how i can save the file as an MP3 and stop the phone from converting/appending .ext to the filename?

Hi... does anyone have a white border around the main screen that just showed up one day and you cant get rid of?
Data Link Cable and Headset Cable falls Out?
I have had the 6102 for a couple of weeks. As with my previous Nokia phones, I love it. Great signal, long battery etc.... The problem I am having is I use the FM radio to listen to Football games. The plug for the data link cable and the headset cable is getting where it wants to fall out unexpectedly. Has anyone else had this problem? I am thinking of taking it back, but not sure if I should get a completely different phone..... Please help... Looking for input on the quality of the Nokia plug design....

Moto V635 vs. Nokia 6102
alrighty well here's the thing-->
i'm getting a new phone and i've narrowed it down to these two cell phones:::::
the moto sounds great and all, but as the reviews say...it could have some deffinate problems (like bugs, crashing, texting problems...etc)
And the Nokia sounds great too...but some things are making me a little nervous....like call volume, crap ringtones, camera quality...
I'm kinda leaning towards the nokia....but if there's anyone who has any idea of which one is better all around...would you ppppllleeeaaseeee tell me?

volume really that low?
For those with the phone, is the volume really that low? I was considering buying the phone. I don't have the best hearing to begin with though. My car is kinda loud also. I can't afford to get a phone whose volume is that low. Guess I'll just have to buy the phone to test it & return it if it's not loud enough.
