Nokia 6101 / 6102

What about the FM radio, do you use it and do the stations come in clear, or is it a lot of static?

Posters on HoFo are reporting Sept 9th.

Is the 6102 still set for release on August 15th? I live in Niagara Falls New York.

I had a question for the two that already have this much anticipated phone... can you send email using the text messaging function? Sounds like a dumb questions, but my in-laws old phone wasn't capable of sending text messages via text messaging and they had to log onto mMode every time they wanted to send a text message email (even the crappy LG that my wife and i have right now has the ability to send emails via text messaging).

I just can't wait for this phone!!

is the camera on the 6101 high quality?
and can you do anything with it like change it to black and white and stuff like that

i have been thinking long and hard about this... i kinda wanted a flip phone this time, and thought about this one or a new motorola, like the v361 for cingular... but i just love the nokia sticks too much... and i think i am gonna get the 6682 when it comes out,t hat is one sweet piece of machinery, and it looks so sleek. love it.

Its coming to cingular stores in new york on august 15th so im pretty happy 7 days until i get it. Im not sure when its releasing in other parts of the country bc I know the east end gets phones first usually but ive been dying to get it to replace my annoying v551 👿

Nokia couldn't get it together for this first flip phone for Cingular - T-mo. Why is the Antenna on the wrong side? Can you imagine how awkward it'd be to hold that thing, Especially for plp who is used to have the antenna on the other side

We just got some collateral here at the store for the 6102, and the price listed is $89.99, or $109 if you don't have MEdia. No date on when we are going to get it, but it will be soon.

You can't silence the phone with a side button? How do you silence an incoming call then if you forgot to put your phone on silence--have to open it? That kinda sucks.

Also, to put the phone on silent profile, is there a quick way to do it or do you have to go through the menu? For example, on my Sony Ericsson, you just have to hold down the C button and the phone is then in silent mode. I like this cuz it's quick--you don't have to go thru the whole menu just to put the phone in silent mode.

Does the operating system have pretty good speed (naviating menus, when you press buttons any lag time)?

Don't all flip phones have this lag time though?

I'm wondering what other "slow processing speeds" this individual is speaking of & if they're that big of a deal.

can someone help me out and let me know how many numbers this phone holds in the missed call and dialed call logs..please.. 😁

I live in Ohio and I'm not a cellular rep., I'm just a phone phonatic. I went to a really nice Nokia kiosk in the mall today. (I tried talking with the reps. at Cingular before but majority of the time they are clueless or you get two differant stories).

The two Nokia sales reps. assured me the Nokia 6101 and 6102 will be out in September. They could not give a exact date b/c they said it could change. As we all know; Cingular is getting the 6102 and actually T-Mobile is getting the black 6101. I have Cingular and I am waiting for the unlocked American version of the 6101 b/c I do not like the look of the 6102.

Can you move MP3 files form your computer to the Nokia 6101 to use as ringtones?

Can you bring this phone into another country, like Greece, and still be able to talk on it?

How long are the lenght of the videos you can record?

How many text messages can be saved in your phone in total. I heard it was 20, and thats ridiculous.

And finally! Is there any way you can tweak its settings, like you can with the RAZR V3? For example, delete ringtones that came with the phone etc

Is there a way to find out the reception strength of two phones? I need the best reception I can get in my phone, (which is poor at best currently with the Samsung 426).

I am considering the Motorola 551 or the Nokia 6102. Is there a way to know the technical reception ability of either phone before I buy? Thanks for any and all responses. 😳

I recently went into a cingular store and they were telling me about the new Nokia 6102 which should be out around Xmas. - The store employee told me this is going to be a quad band phone. - From all the literature I have read it seems as though this will be a Triband phone. - Can anyone tell me the deal as well as how tri/quadband would make a difference one over the other?

(My old 3360 sounded good when I had it).

This individual also had good things to say about the phone though.

Someone else stated that mp3 ringtones sound bad, but polyphonic ones sound good. This is important to me as I am always changing my ringtone.

If the 6102 has bad sound quality & ringtones, I don't really care for it. What do ya'll think?

Hi there, I live in Ohio and I am using a unlocked Innostream 90 phone. I think the phone has alot of bugs, etc., it's just not working well. Does the reception b/w buying a phone thru Cingular vs unlocked or does just the options of the phone just change?

I really like the look of the Nokia 6101 better than the 6102. Would it be worth my wild to get the unlocked 6101 rather than buying one that is already branded thru Cingular? Who has the 6101 USA version for sale or when does it come out? (there are 2 on the expansysus.com website and I think the usa version is available; not sure)
