Motorola SLVR L7

I just got my SLVR from Comp USA on Monday $32 (tax included) out the door.

The phone is great, and I am still learning all of what it can do...but I have stumbled upon a problem with my phone/headset adapter.

When playing I-tunes (with no headset at all), the phone works fine and the sound comes from the phone's built in speaker.

With the Motorola supplied (wired) ear buds the sound comes out of the ear buds fine, and the speaker in the phone itself goes silent.

But, when using the 3.5mm headsel adapter...the sound still comes from the phone speaker, and nothing is heard from the headset. I have tried a few different headsets with the same results.

I feel that either the 3.5mm headset adapter or the phone itself is bad...due...

i am having a small problem with AUTO deleting text messages..

i have my auto cleanup messages set up to 70 msgs and I THINK it means it only keeps 70 mesages and when u get 70 it deletes the old ones wghen getting new oens right? well.. right now 76 messages and it wont delete the extra 6 i have!! can someone PLEASE HELP ME with this because htis is really bothering me and i have to delete text messages constantly cause i text 24/7 lol

I've got an unlocked SLVR I'm using on TMobile. For some reason I can't get my text messages to auto delete. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried every setting by time period and # of messages, but none work.

When hooked to the cable and with I tunes open, open my computer and the L7 is displayed as an MSD. However, when I open it to navigate despite folders being displayed there are no contents listed. How does everyone transfer video/mp3 to your phone via this method?
In other words, how can I view the files within the folders and what folder should I drag and drop to in order to do a direct copy from comp to L7 via the cable. Since we can view the folders there must be a way.
I can do it via wap.net but size is limited. I dont want to use MPT because I hate the interface. Bluetooth is always an option but I have to buy an external for my laptop.

I'm thinking about getting a new Unlocked Motorola SLVR, but i ve been screwed before. i got an unlocked Sony Ericsson s710a (which i later found out are built exclusively for cingular, at least mines was) i wasn't able to access T Zones or the web. I understand that the SLVR is made just for cingular also. if i get the slvr , would i have the same problems as before with the Ericsson?

Does anyone have this working ? Can someone

Also, what is the best pricing available on
this phone? I paid $169 with 2 year contract.
Anyone can get this phone any cheaper from
anywhere else? (Maybe UK?) I can see that
amazon is selling it for $50 after rebates
but it seems out of stock.

Any comments on better pricing than

There's no way that the SLVR can hold little more than 17 text messages. Why does my SLVR say "Messages Full" when I have no text messages on the phone and 17 on my SIM card? For clarification, the SIM card that I am using is an older one that I got from Cingular probably two years ago. Would that be the reason? Are new SIM cards from Cingular of higher capacity, and thus able to hold more than 17 text messages? Or is there some sort of ridiculous limitation on the SLVR that will allow messages to be stored only on the SIM and/or not at all on the phone?

Also, I am baffled by the SLVR's phonebook. I have had a Motorola phone in the past and I know pretty much how to use it, but I honestly don't know how to be able to use speed dialing on...

I have an issue with my email download on the L7. I have it set to check my pop mail once per hour and a couple times it has alerted me I have 2 or 3 new emails and under that it says "more emails available" but I am unable to get them even if I try to retrieve emails again. At first I thought it was size, but I don't think that's the issue. The only thing I can think of is that I polled for messages on my computer so on the server they appear as though they have been read. I leave all emails on the server for 10 days because I use more than 1 computer for my Outlook Express and want to get all emails on both computers.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I just purchased this SLVR7 and the Video Camera says it is "Busy" and to "Try Again". This also seems to effect the still Camera as well because when I try to select the camera it shows the viewfinder for a second showing 000 Remaining and the goes back to the "My Stuff" menu. Has anyone had the same problem and been able to fix it ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm a bit hard of hearing and I just found out that the volume on this phone is terribly low. WTF??? What are phones primarily designed to do? Play music/games or talk to people?!?

I've heard that there are a few tools that will allow you to change the settings of some phones. Please tell me that there is something that I can dowload to make this phone louder.

I went to walmart and they can not upgrade my plan for a year. They said I would have to pay full price for the phone. Is there anywhere else i can go?

so recently switched from verizon to cinglar and so far its been awsome and i am going to tell you all a secret i found on the lg 8000 forum and it seems to work with this L7 also to get free ringtones just send yourself a e-mail (yournumber@mms.mycingular.com)with a mp3 attached to it then save file and you now have a new ringtone without the fee but the mpt works faster and easier but if you don't fell like using that this works great 🙂

hey guys, just wonder if we can upload new skins for the L7? coz i really don't like the 3 which came with the phone... 😕

and i'm thinking if we can use the moto e398 skins on the L7? and i've seen diff format for those kind of skins(9R, 12R?), which type will suit L7?

last question, which program you guys use to upload skins or themes to the phone, i know the softwears included in the kit do not support that function?!

Does anybody know why sound disappears from this phone? I played my mp3 files, once I bought the phone, then I got bluetooth headset and after that I coud't manage to listen to my mp3 files again. Any solution please? 😢

hey ive heard from a few people that their L7 has broke right after they got it or soon after they got it... just wondering how durable this phone is before i buy it...

Ok so first off... ive been with sprint for the past 5 years... not really cuz ive wanted to, but because i goto school in south dakota and the only provider at the time that worked where i was going to school was sprint... my first phone wasnt a flip phone, and i loved it even though it wasnt a color screen... which i dont think were out yet...
(touchpoint 2200) i lost that phone at a twins game so i bought the samsung N400... once again a great phone that lasted me for like 2 years... then i go in and cash in my 2 year agreement to get this LG cameraphone... WHAT A DISASTER!!! the first phone i got broke 3 weeks after i got it... it turned on and off with out me doing anything...
so i get another one for free... and after downloading all...

I recently got my SLVR (month ago) and i noticed that the keypad and screen are VERY easily soiled and saw many little tiny scratches on the keypad. Does anyone else have this problem. I can really only see it in direct sunlight or in bright light so it's not too big of a deal. Thanks.
