External Display

Is is true that you can't personalize the external display. Like add wallpapers to it. I heard that it only shows the clock and if you push a side button you get the info screen like bat. and signal strength. Thanks! 🙄 🙄

voice independent dialing on panasonic x800

hi-
Does anyone who owns this phone know if you can activate the voice independent dialing through a bluetooth headset. I am interested in the phone, but want to know if it does this?
thanks

X800 bluetooth

I have a x800 and I installed a MP3 player on it that works great with the speaker. However I cant plug in headphones or find any kind of adaptor because the headset plug is by far one of the strangest plugs I have seen.
If i were to purchase a bluetooth headset, would I be able to listen to music? would the panasonic sync with the stereo headphones? does anyone know? Also, is there a way or program to change the caller ID to show a full picture of whos calling rather than the barley visible thumbnail that shows when someone calls? thanks
other than those questions, if anyone wants this phone, I highly reocomend it! has it all!

Keypad ?'s

I'm wondering if the keys are raised or flush? How's the keypad 'touch'? The GU87 had a beautiful 'touch' that was made keying effortless.

Thank you

Does it? Details

How many text messages does the phone store before it stops receiving any?

For outgoing texts, does it save the timestamp and datastamp?

Does it have a configurable dictionary? ie one you can manually add and remove words from?

I love this phone!

I currently have this phone with t-mobile service in Los Angeles.
It's an awesome phone. The form factor is amazing! It's almost as thin as the RAZR but it looks 1000 times better! I love the auto opening feature with just a push of a button. 😁

HOTNESS

I think that this is a pretty snazy phone, it has speaker phone, bluetooth and SD slot and all. Very very nice, can't wait to see it when it comes out!!! 😎

too bad...

Too bad that Panasonic pulled out of the US mobile market. It might have actually done well here.

Just wondering?

DOes the release of this phone mean a price drop on an X700. Just curious.

So what is it with Panasonic...

I just need some opinions. I was planning on saving up for the Panasonic X700 and have heard many excellent things about that phone but now I'm wondering if I should wait for the X800 to be released. It sounds the same but with internal atenna and no flash.

Slow Carriers

What is with these SLOW carriers? The USA really needs to speed up with the GSM techno vibe. T-Mobile is really lacking on nice phones packed with tons of features. Verizon, in my opinion, is doing the best. T-Mobile needs to really kick it with EDGE in the summer, because it is behind on the cell phone train. Cingular is to busy with trying to make its plans better, and providing new services like streaming TV that it has no focus on the make and model of the cell phone. There are so many great phones out there that are just sitting in the Manufacturing Office, waiting to be service .(metaphorically speaking) Verizon is issuing nice phones and and services, like V-Cast. CDMA is beating GSM by the mile.... 😲

Samsung - Same phone, different shell...

Samsung really seems to disappoint me these days. They use to have all the new gadgets and features - but even then, it was "all beauty, no brains" You couldn't really do anything with some of the toys. Now, the beauty is slipping too. They are still flashy, but pack no truly new features.

Same flips, different trade show.

Bleh!

PS - Shame on Samsung for making such big news of the P705 TV Phone back in the 4Q of 2003 - where is it?!?

SGH-E730, E880, E720

Will these phones be released in the US?

They look great and have all the "essentials", but none of that matters if the phones never come out.

It would be great if one of the phones could come out for T-Mobile.

Just my opinion.

Thanks Rich Brome for the inside scoop.
