Motorola V635

So for those who got the phone online, what kind of charger does it come with? It's a standard wall charger right? And does it work in the US? If not, where can I get a US one that is compatible? And also a car charger?

And does anyone use a headset (earpiece)? I don't really want to blow $100 on a bluetooth one, but my friend has a regular Motorola earpiece (with wire) for her V551 and the sound is awful, really muffled.

There have been some reference to people trying this, but what's the latest verdict on Java mobile IM apps? I know there's a decent one I had on my v600 that had ICQ/Yahoo/AIM...Anyone figure out how to get that on the v635?

Is there a way to do it WITHOUT hacking or using some type of complicated "jump inside the phone and adjust menu" program??

i was just wondering if there is a firmware upgrade? The 635 i have right now isn't able to play mp3's that have a VBR (variable bit rate) i don't know if there is a fix for this or not, i just hate having to re-encode my mp3's so they can play on the phone. If anyone knows that would be super.

i was wondering if this phone accepts regular VXXX series power cords or if you have to have a european adapter for the cord that comes with it. someplaces i see that the phone comes with an adapter and others i see that it doesnt. thanks ahead of time.

Is there any simple way to get rid of the other language info on my v635?

For the predictive text in SMS it is VERY annoying b/c it comes up with German (?) or something else rather than the simple English words that are so common...So I have to scroll through, or do one letter at a time to walk it through what word I'm getting at. Had my other phone trained pretty well, this one is either dense or too filled up to get in the English habit ;)

Can anyone help, please?? You would make my life easier 🙂

Another day strolling in the internet, got myself browsing Motorola's website and looking at phones. Somehow I went read the spec for the V635 again.

My question is on the spec on motorola's website it say MPEG 4 / H.263 what does this means.

Btw, I always heard and read over here in the forum(Phonescoop) that the files name is .3GP

Whats going on here..... now I'm confuse again can I play MPEG 4 files on the phone.

Anybody have an answer.

I'm considering buying this phone unlocked and then going with a Cingular plan.

Has anyone else done this?

If so, how easy is it to set up and have you been happy with the performance of the V635/Cingular combination?

Hi I'm going to be switching over to T-Mobile and was thinking of getting the RAZR but after doing some research I am really interested in the V635. After I buy the phone what would I need to do in order for it to work with my TMobile account? I'm kind of scared since they dont actually carry the phone and I dont know too much about cell phones. Or would it be better to just keep it simple and get the RAZR?

I just paid a total of $334.00 to order my v635 off ebay and it should be here on tuesday. Now, after looking at google.com i found it for only 279.99 NO TAX plus cheap shipping&handling! Don't get it off ebay...this site has it for cheaper!!!

Which type of flash memory does the V635 use and what's the maximum mb card it supports?

I went on vacation to Greece and I thought that I will find this phone cheaper over there. Man, was I wrong. The local cell store is called TIM and they sold the phone unlocked for 309 Euros * $1.30 = $401.70. Crazy I tell you, crazy.

I'm trying to figure out whic is better to purchase for uploading ring tones and screen savers to my V635, the USB data cable or the USB bluetooth dongle. HELP 😕

I've heard lots of people talk about using their phone on Cingular, but what about T-Mobile? Any reason why I don't hear about people doing that? I like their price plans better. Also, anyone get a plan and phone through www.mobilebee.com? They've got a really good price on the phone with a plan, but it makes me think that there is a catch. Would that phone be locked? I need to be able to switch out SIM cards easily. Thanks for the help.

😢 Ok so my v635 I bought off of ebay was working fine for 3 days. Then all of a sudden last night its saying no service, the back ground dims in and out and the screen flashes to white for 10 seconds and then it repeats all this again and again and again and again. Anybody have any idea why this might be happening? Very upset need help. Anything would be nice. Thanks!

is there any way to transfer my games from my v505 to my v635. i know they both use java and im sick of paying those damn data transfer fees. TIA

Does the v635 use USB 1.0 or 2.0? I've got an older computer with Windows 98 and USB 1.0. Will I still be able to connect to the phone? Or should I just go buy a bluetooth card? Thanks!

One of the main reasons I want to have a camera with a memory card bay is that I want to watch "The Simpsons" on the phone while I'm on the train. Can I do that?
If not, does anyone know of another quad band phone with an mp3 player and a memory bay that will let me play video?
