About transferring pictures from PC to Phone.

I have tried numerous times to send high quality pics from my PC to the DCIM folder when connected VIA USB into the Mass Storage device option. When i open the folder DCIM after unplugging the USB cable, i see nothing. Please help and let me know which way maintains the highest possible picture quality.

Assigning Video Ringers

you can assign video ringers from videos made BY the phone. i've tried many different settings and i can never get the phone to let me assign a home made video (converted on my computer). Does anyone know how to trick the phone into thinking that it actually made the video so that it can be assigned?

i converted it to .3g2. the videos play, just can't assign or send. anyone with suggestions? i know you can only send videos smaller than 5 megs also. what am i missing? has anyone else been able to assign the videos that they have stored on their SD card?

Low Light Photo Quality compared to Other Phones

Many people are asking why this phone takes such poor photos at night.

In simple terms, the problem has to do with the number of Pixels being pushed through on such a small image sensor. It wont matter much if it's CCD or CMOS.

The image sensor on the Sanyo Phones have all been about the same size but as the resolution of the camera goes up it introduces more noise at lower light levels. If you go back to the 8100 you will see it works AWESOME at low light levels but the images are a crappy 240x320

Take a look at the Verizon Motorola V710 (listed here in Phonescoop) it has the same problem.

I had the Samsung A700 and it too was awful compared to my Ol' 5500/8100/etc.

It can, and will, be improved as the demand goes up. But th...

5600 Phone Purchases before 3/13/05

In an attempt to obtain my $150 rebate, I was sent to the local Sprint store to get the rebate form. On the rebate form, the first stipulation is that the sales receipt or packing slip be dated between 3/13/05 and 4/6/05. For those of us that purchased the phone through telesales before 3/13, does this mean that we are not eligible for the rebate? Or do we have to obtain a different rebate form. I just renewed to a 2-year thinking that was all I needed, now reading the fine print, I/we may be screwed. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks.

Fakking Sprint is beginning to piss me off.

7400 vs. 5600 camera wise

I know everything else about these two phones, but I heard that the 5600 is horrible at night. I went to the Sprint store and 5600 took good pics with the lighting, better than the 7400. But which is better at night????

This is the deal breaker....

What the hell???

Why when you send created ring tones to the 5600 or even the 7400 for that matter does it end up in the videos folder instead of the ringers folder? And also, why does it become a bigger file then what was downloaded? That didn't happen like that on the old crappy 8100. Anyone have a solution???

Learn how to make your own MP4/AAC Ringtones for the 5600

Lots of people have been asking questions regarding how to make ringtones for the 5600. I took the liberty to post instructions along with links to neccesary software on my homepage. Please note, I called Sanyo/Fisher and they told me the phone does not support MP3 ringtones. That's what they said, could be wrong I don't have the phone so I can't test it but I heard from other people that MP3 ringtones weren't being supported. Not a big deal since MP3 ringtones actually take up more memory than MP4/AAC ringtones and the AAC's actually sound better. If you need better quality than an AAC ringtone than you got problems.

Anyways here is the link as promised:

Is there any way to buy the 5600 cheaper than $429 without activating a new line of service?

Is there any way to buy the 5600 cheaper than $429 without activating a new line of service? I know one way to get 10% off of the retail price of $429. Go to your local Radio Shack stores when the 5600 is available and tell the salesman that you want to sign up to get a Radio Shack Credit Card. Some credit cards allow you to receive 10% off of your first purchase for signing up with 12-month no interest. 😉

Can anyone think of something else?

How Does The Camera On This Phone Compare to the One on the 8200....

More specifically in low lighting conditions. Cause the 8200 is all I can base it off of. Is the camera really that bad in low light?
