V620 Hinge Problem

I just bought a V620 off of e-bay, it's a fantastic phone, except the only problem I have for it is that there's a problem with the hinge. It seems that when I close the phone, there is poor contact between the little piece of plastic under the screen and the rubber sensor located above the keypad. Is there any way to correct this problem?

phone book problem

So I used the phone tools software to clean up my phone book...worked fine. However, now my "search" function does not work on the phone. If, for example, I want to see "Jen Cell" by pushing the J key, it always goes right to the last entry in the phone book. No matter which key I push, it always goes to the last entry in the phone book.

I use a dumb format....all the contacts are last name only...so I type in" space (to get by the first name requirement) then "Jen Cell" as the last name.

Any help?

Cheers,

Don in Chicago

V620 Help!

I just purchased an OEM V620 from myworldphone.com and I cannot get it to work. I'm obviously missing something:

I charged the battery overnight. When charging, there is no indication except the external display lights up with no message.

When I insert my T-mobile sim card, and power up the phone, I just get a white screen on the main display...no "Welcome to Moto" or other icons or printing. Same exact thing if I power up without the sim card in place.

Does the battery need more charging?

Does the phone need to be "unlocked" with a default pin (and what would that pin be)?

Is the phone broken?

Do I need to load the phone tools on my computer and do an initial program load?

I've emailed myworldphone.com, but no respons...

For Sale: Brand New V620

I have a brand new v620 (2 weeks old with very few hours). The phone is in excellent condition and works perfectly.

I just had a real financial hardship hit and I need to sell. I paid $399 for my phone from Cellular Concepts and I have all of the original packaging, phone tools CD, data cable, home charger with US adapter and I even have two sets of front and back plates... one is the OEM black and the other is a really slick OEM chrome.

If anyone is interested I would be willing to sell to you via half.com(ebay sister site) for $260 including next day air shipping and all accessories.

Please email ASAP: bryanz8@hotmail.com

thanks all!

v180

Screw this phone. Lets just face it everybody, there is no such thing as the v620. Hahaha it was all a joke. Anyway. I'm bailing out, im going with the v180 because seriously folks, who really needs to take a crappy little tiny VGA picture or record a choppy 2 second movie on their cell phone???? What are you going to do with it. I'm tell you, it's all about style in a compact, lightweight design with PRACTICAL features!

V620 battery in the v551

Anyone know if the outstanding battery in the v620 that lasts 7.5 talk/263 standby hours to the 3.75 talk/225 standby hours of the v551 can be used in the v551? Or is it primarily the technology in the phone that makes the difference. If I buy the v551, I'd be willing to get a hold of a v620 battery to enjoy that much of an extended battery life. Thanks!!

charging problems?

Anyone have any problems charging this phone? My first charge worked as expected. I plugged in my charger and got an immediate readout on the LCD showing charging in progress.

Now however I don't know if the charge is taking or not. I plug in and get no sign that anything is happening. I have tried the home charger, car charger and even data cable hooked up to my laptop but no visible results. The batter icon shows full so it should be fine but this seems really wrong.

Any thoughts?

v620 on the Cingular network

It seems to me that Moto have release a ton of phones that are experiencing a ton of problems. If you read reviews all around the internet on the v620, it seems to be the only one not experiencing much of the same problems. In fact, it seems that the v551 is pretty damn close to it. And that is probably why the v620 is not being or doesn't appear will ever be offered by Cingular. Why would they release a phone that is virtually identical in features to the v551? Personally, I like the color and the battery life better on the v620, but if Cingular do not offer it, you can't insure it or refer to them for help with it. As much as I love the v620, unless it comes directly through Cingular, I'd have to say stay with the v551

RE: Release in the US

Can anyone tell me when this phone will be available from Cingular. Is it worth it to order it from an internet site such as costco or should I wait until it is released from Cingular in the US.
Thanks

VOICEMAIL PROBLEM ON CINGULAR

When I get voicemail, it comes out as a text message asking me to "read" it. I don't get the voicemail icon. I asked Cingular tech support without luck; they tell me to call MOtorola for software update.

I was wondering if anyone else have similar problems and how it was fixed. thanks in advance.

V653 Vs V620

Below you will find a link detailing information about the very secretive V635. It appears that this information has accidentally leaked out. This honey of a phone looks, if you can believe it, even better that the v620. But, it is also going to run a lot more. You are looking at a whopping $450.00!! With that you get the following upgrades from the v620:

- EDGE
- miniSD cards connector, hot changing, mp3 player
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- outer color screen (4096, ñSTN, 80õ96)

v620

I think it's funny that everytime I step into a Cingular/ATT store and ask the people who work there about this phone, they say that they have no idea and never even heard of it before. I really wish there was a date for its release. I read that it might not even come out until next year. The guy that worked at the store even showed me the holiday promo summary, and the phone wasn't listed. I would buy it online, but I want to get a discount since I would be signing up for a plan. Anyway, I'm thinking about the v551, even though it has less talk time (only 3.75) which kind of sucks. Anyone hear anything further about the v620s release to Cingular?

v620/SIM card question

Hi (**noob alert**)
If I buy a phone (...and sign a 1yr contract w/cingular) thru amazon.com and then buy a v620 from myworldphone.com, would I be able to transfer the SIM card to the v620? The reason I'm asking is because I can get a phone from amazon for $-125 (after rebates) and use the extra $$$ on the v620. It would only end up costing $215...

Is this doable? Thanks.

Phone Insurance

If I purchase a new phone and plan off of a Cingular authorized internet site, do I have the option to add insurance on the phone; or is insurance only availble if I purchase the phone from a Cingular store? I'm assuming that this only applies for phones that cingular currently offers, i.e. not the V620.
