Motorola A780

Is the Motorola A780 "data capable" where it can be used as a GPRS modem to connect a laptop to the Internet? Phone scoop says that it is not, but I wanted to verify that.

I have followed the instructions in the manual, but I can't get the "category setting" to come up. It instructions tap the address book, and the tap the "category setting". My options at this point are: New Contact, New Distribution List, Owner's Information, Find Contacts, Sync, Copy to SIM/Phone, Memory Status, Delet Contacts, and Setup. (it doesn't come up in setup)

Also, I know this is "old stuff", but, I'm still having problems syncing with Outlook.

I see from below someone got it working...but I can't seem to get anywhere. I have wap settings that seem to connect through GPRS but the browser cannot open anything. I thought it might be a DNS issue but I can't open direct ip addresses either. Can someone give me thier browser settings and maybe confirm their WAP settings for me.

has anyone been able to sync outlook using phone tools. I have tried everything, and everytime I do, the software crashes. Is there any oher way to sync wih outlook besides using this usless piece of software? please help

How do u manage ur daily schedule?eg, task/to-do list etc.I want this feature to work effectively as i forget most of the stuff i need to do,so i need the cell to help me do my stuff without fail.

I recently found a european site to download 3gp videos(http://oktvideos.lx.ro/download.php?li st.3)onto my a780 (tmobile usa). While in the middle of the download my browser suddenly disconnected , when i tried to connect again, i got a message that says "Continue interrupted download?" and three options "ok","delete", or "cancel". Whenever i press ok or delete, my browser automatically closes, if i press cancel i can begin surfing the web but if try downloading a 3gp video , my browser shuts down again. You can imagine how frustrating this can be, now everytime i try to get on the web I keep getting this message. Ive tried deleting the cookies, caches,reseting the Bytes, power cycling the phone, pretty much everything i can think of wit...

Has anyone gotten AOL to work properly on the A780's Email application? I have all the settings configured correctly, but I'm still unable to get it to work. I keep getting an error reading: host not found. If anyone has gotten this to work, please let me know. Thanks! - Dave

Hello Peeps, well i've had my a780 for a while now. when i first got it, i put in all the settings and was able to get full web pages to load. since then i had disconected my cingular web services and once i turned it back on it started loading the pages all weird, and i also cant go to a lot of the websites i went to before. because it used to load up like my computer at home and now its not and im ☹️ . thats why ive turned to some of the best in the business to help me out and make me 🙂 .

I have a Motorola A780 phone, but I've been having trouble getting the browser to work. (I am a Cingular customer.) I have configured everything - at least I think I have. At this point, I am able to log onto the MediaNet homepage, but am not able to go any further. I get an error message reading: The file i.xhtml was not found. I have no idea what this file is or how to get it installed on my phone. If anyone knows about this and is willing to help me out, please let me know. I'd greatly appreciate your help.

I recently purchased a Motorola a780 from MyWorldPhone.com. Soon after receiving the product, I realized it was missing a key feature I wanted (EDGE support) even though it was described with this feature in the product description. I called them nearly a dozen times to rectify this problem (I even recommended they change the description on their website). The result: A partial refund. Even though it was their fault they misrepresented the product, I lost nearly $100 from this transaction.

I have the Singapore version of the A780, which, unfortunately, does not come with the IM client activated. I guess the Hong Kong version does come with this activated. Anyway, in the status menu of the phone, it simply reads "offline" next to IM, and there does not appear to be a way to make it "online." If anyone knows what I can do, please help. Thanks.
