Have it, Love it

Ordered my 6600 from Verizon Tele-sales for business and it shipped to my house FedEx within two days. Activated it (it automatically added the unlimited data contract to my service) and was online in minutes.

The EVDO is AMAZING in Atlanta. Very fast. I tested it while in Chicago and it worked quite well in many different areas on non-EVDO. I am very pleased.

The accessories included are quite lacking. Wall charger, cradle, and a cheap leather pouch. I bought an HP iPaq leather belt case for $30 at Circuit City and it works perfectly.

I have used this to access work email, IM folks from the web, surf, etc and all work as promised. I also have the bluetooth sync and bluetooth DUN for my laptop enabled and all work as designe...

Crash and Burn

It seems like I am crashing the system on my 6600 and having to soft reset and burning out the batteries at least 2 and some times three times a day. I have two questions for anyone that can help. I have been testing the 6600 for three weeks and returned the first one for what I thought was battery / power problems. 35 to 50 min. of talk time and three charges a day does not cut it and I consider my self a moderate user either I am underestimating myself or the phone has serous problems. Anyone have better experiences as there Issues not seem to be much talk about it? My two PPC;'from T-mobile could at least last the day. And both my 7135 and 6135 could go for days. Also the soft reset once or twice a day is a pain. The specks say three ho...

Compatability with 05 MS Streets and Trips

We are due to get the XV6600 (no camera as all our clients strip them off you if you show up at their plants with a cam-phone) as soon as they get off back order. Does anyone know if this unit is conpatable with MS Streets and Trips 2005. This latest version has a GPS antenna that comes with the program that plugs into PDA and I would assume PC's. Maybe this would make it into a cheap nav system. 🙄

AudiovoxXV6600 or Treo 600/650?

It seems like everyone is loving this phone! As you Verizon customers know, Verizon does not have the Treo 650 yet and they don't know when or if they will get it. So I'm up for renewal and I'm wondering if I should just get the Treo 600 (the price is reduced significantly now) or go ahead and get this Audiovox. If I drop the $$ for this thing, I want to be tickled pink!

1. Is the phone really bad? (I really do need a good phone)

2. How is the Windows OS compared to the Palm OS? I have Groupwise at work, not Outlook. Will the Audiovox work?

3. Have most of the kinks been worked out? (Bluetooth, ringer volume). Or will I have to go to all of these websites to get everything working right?

A lil sumpin' new from VZW

Want to be 'all professional and stuff' with your 6600? Have your own secratary answer the phone for you and add a lil elevator music to the 'wait time' or any cool [ringback] tone.

i700 to XV6600

I thought I had posted this earlier but perhaps not.

I am going from an i700 to a XV6600. I would like someone to take the time to let me know - step by step - how to use active sync to move everything from my i700 to the 6600.

I know that may be a bothersome thing to ask, but I could really use the help.

I have Active Sync on my computer at work and laptop at home.

I sync to both of them.

Please advise how I should go about this.

Also, I have everything on my i700 backed up to an SD card using Sprite Backup. Can I use that card to do a restore to the new phone?

Hard Reset

👿
Just got the XV6600 form VZW. Whenever I try to use the speaker phone mode i.e keep the send button pressed for a few seconds, the screen goes crazy and the phone does a hard reset. I lose all the data and then activesync does not recognize it as an old device. It asks to set up a new partnership and will not let me choose an existing one???like the Palm OS. Anybody have any comments/solutions. Thx in advance

Windows Media Player 10

Does anyone with the 6600 know if you can get Windows Media Player 10? If so, where can I get this. Some videos won't play without it.

New Release Date for Verizon XV6601?

Does anyone know the re-release date for the xv6601? The only difference between the xv6600 and xv6601 is the camera and maybe the updated version of bluetooth. I had the Verizon xv6600, but sent it back. It had to many problems with bluetooth, no camera and a couple of other minor problems. All and all I still enjoyed it.

I was told by the tech guys that it was to be released beginning of March. Sure it is...

I thought I remembered seeing an option to set the font style. Has anyone found this? I remember there being only two options, but I can't find it for the life of me.

Thanks in advance,
