Motorola V265 / V266 / V276

When I picked up my new v265 phone, RadioShack bundled an accessory pack that included a "Body Glove - Earglove Flex" headsent. This headset includes an Answer/End button, but that button doesn't seem to work for me. It won't answer or end calls.

I'm just curious, should the v265 accept any universal headset with answer/end or does it need one specifically made for a Motorola phone?

I am thinking to get new instrument and I am not able to decide which instrument to go with - LG 4500 or Motorola V265. I understand that one was camera in it and other does not, which is not really a important criteria for me. I am considering following factors:
-Instrument should not heat up when you are in converstation for about half to one hour.
- Battery life
- Ease of use
- Able to easily download stuff on phone - ringtones or other easily (but not that important).

Please can you share your experience about it.

Is there any way to get the voice dial feature to DEFAULT to "name dial" to save a step?

When I put an event in my datebook, the same event is listed the following day. When I tried to delete the event on the wrong date, both events were removed. Anybody have this problem?

Also, what are the magic numbers to get software updates?

OK, have my new V265. Is as good as advertised in terms of reception- WOW! It's a keeper. Now, do I have to manually enter the 100 numbers from Outlook? If not, can someone tell me in a nutshell what I must buy to do this.

I naiively purchased a datacable, but no device driver. I assumed this would be easily available online. So far, I can not figure out what to do. Seems I must by some software, but there appear to be a few options and I want to hear from someone who has made it work.

I have a mobile office kit from verizon wireless. I love it, and used it with my 720. Then I got the 265, now I can't get it to recognize the phone. seems that I don't have the correct drivers. I'm not about to pay another $40 for something that I don't really need.
does anyone know where I can download/get the drivers?

I just exchanged my phone for a new one because of the illumination problems. I need to change the setting on the new phone and I forgot how to do 2 things:

1) How to adjust/turn off the keypad tones

2) Turn off the auto-completion in text messaging (or whatever it's called when the phone automatically finishes words for you after you key in the first couple letters- annoying as hell for me).

Can anyone comment on the text display size? The V265 looks like everything I need in a phone but my concern is the text size. I get a lot of messages from my answering service text messaged to me, and I've reached the point where unless the display can be adjusted to a pretty good size I can't make it out w/o reading glasses. Not always convenient if I'm say driving around.

When i flip open my phone the top of the screen says "packet data" instead of "verizon wireless" i have no idea what this means can anyone help me out please?
also at the way top next to the service bar it looks as if its a little symbol of data being transfered or something similar to that please help

i got my son a v265 for christmas for $119 with a $50 rebate.found out that they're now $49.i went to the store and asked since i was still in my 15 day trial period if i could have the $49 price.he said he would ask his manager(if he said no,i was ready to say "then i'm bringing it back"),about 5 min later he came back and said he couldn't give me cash but he could credit my account with $70.i said cool. just thought it might save someone $20 and the hassle of waiting on the rebate.by the way,when i bought my phone(dec.23)they told me because of christmas the trial period was extended to jan.15.hope this helps someone.

Anyone that says the the camera on this phone sucks is just stupid. It works fine, it's the screen that sucks. I have transfered many pictures from the phone to my computer and they turn out fine. Real fine for a 640X480. So get your fact right before you trash this phone! Oh an also the LG 6100 is a cheap "me too" Korean phone that has sh_t reception, so to all you that switched I say enjoy!!! 😈 😈

Is there any way you can change the front display (outside lcd) from the silver/white on black to black lettering on a silver/white background.... basically im asking can you reverse the coloring so it looks like most other phones out side displays? I know on the v710 you have some customization options with the screen wondering if there was ANYWAY to alter this one.... thanks!

On the Verizon website, it says the v265 has "camera with flash" - am I missing something here, because I don't see any flash on mine - nothing in the manual either... is this a verizon typo or do I have a flash on this thing?? 😕 I just got it, so I'm still learning all the extra features... thanks! 😁

i was wondering what the difference was between the master reset and the master clear. does anybody know?

Purchased the extended battery for this phone. After receiving it noticed that it resembled the extended battery for my old v60i except for two indentations at the ends, I decided to modify this battery and it works find. SNN5705B is the part number for the battery I modified it can be bought for about $15. FYI

I JUST PURCHASED THIS PHONE YESTERDAY AND EVERYTHING SEEMS GOOD SO FAR. EXCEPT 2 THINGS- 1- I AM GETTING SOMEKIND OF VOICE FEEDBACK ON MY END WHEN YOU TALK IN MICROPHONE NORMALLY IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR VOICE IS COMING BACK OUT THROUGH THE REAR SPAEAKER OR SOMETHING. I DONT KNOW IT'S WEIRD LOL HAS ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE EXPERIENCED THIS ON THE V265? MAYBE A BAD MIC OR SOMETHING? AND 2- BATTERY COVER SEEMS VERY LOOSE AND I DONT KNOW IF THERE ALL LIKE THAT OR NOT? WELL IF ANYBODY OUT THERE HAS ANY ADVICE ON THESE 2 PROBLEMS PLEASE LET ME KNOW I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP.

This is in response to phone not shutting off when closed. I've had it do it once, but it was turning off, it was the backlight not turning off. How do I know? I manually pressed the button. Screen went blank, but light was on. Funny thing was, I took the battery out a\nd all the other tricks and the back light stayed on. Then, I opened it and it slipped and slammed **** and never had the problem again so far.

I just travelled from IL to FL and used the earpiece and it worked just great. I closed the phone and it hung up just fine. Somebody mentioned that it wouldn't do that.

Now, I do have one thing that kind of bothers me. When I have the car charger plugged in, I find that the backlight stays on when closed. I just checked...

I just got the 265 and so far love it, but im curious is it worth the 20 more dollars than the 6100 and 40 more dollars than the 4500.
can someone help me and let me know why it is worth it
